文四郎とふくの子供時代を演じた子役は良かった。
市川染五郎さんと木村佳乃さんも良かったように思う。
物語の一番盛り上がる殺陣のシ−ン初めて人を斬った恐怖、後悔、守りたい人のために斬らなければいけないという葛藤が伝わってきた。
ただ、なぜ芸人二人が出ている･･･見ていて学芸会並みの演技で物語を駄目にしている。

内容は所々カットされていて物足りなさを感じる。
まぁ〜時間が決まっているから本一冊を映像化するのは難しいだろうがなぜ映画にしなければならなかったのか?もしも映画化をするのであれば、３部作にしたら良かったのでは?もしくは２時間のドラマを３部作で３日連続放送するとか、それともテレ東が毎年１月２日に１２時間のドラマを放送するが、それでも良かったのではないかと思えてならない。

唯一良かったと思えるのは文四郎とふくが最後に会うシ−ン。
本の最後にも負けないくらいの切なさが伝わってきた。

心内に秘めた言葉（台詞）、この作品の醍醐味はそこに集約されています。
全てを語ることなく気持ちをやり取りする。　現実の人間関係も殆どがそういうやり取りで会話が成立している、いや、、、「言えない」という全てを語ることによって人間関係が壊れてしまうかもしれない不安な気持ちがそうさせるのでしょう。　市川染五郎, 木村佳乃は、その人間の言えない気持ちを巧みに演じきっていました。

原作にある、秘剣「村雨」に関してはあえて切り捨てていますね。　この作品で伝えたいことは、昔の日本にあった「封建社会」の中で男女が慎ましくも強く生きようとする悲しき人生を伝えたかったのだと思います。

日本映画の王道というべき作品ではないかと思います。私の中では、日本映画の今年一番の作品です！　勿論、星５つです。。。

時間の制約があるとはいえ、ドラマに完敗。
この映画だけを見て、蝉しぐれを理解するのは不可能。
風景美がすばらしいのはいいとして、
俳優が演じるシーンのロングショットが多すぎて
エンドロールを見て、「あんな人出てた？あれ○○やったんや」という人多数。
原作未読の方には、まず映画、次にドラマ、最後に原作をお薦めする。
