ラリーゲームとしては、ダントツの完成度を誇るＷＲＣシリーズ。
挙動はリアルすぎずゲームすぎず、いいバランスだと思います。
サーキットではなく公道を走るため、変化に富んだコースばかりで、景色を見ながらのんびりドライブするだけでも楽しめます。
ラリーは基本的に１台でのタイムアタックなので、複数台でのレースが楽しみたい人には向きません。
難易度は、初心者にはちょっと厳しいと思います。
背景のポリゴン欠け、コースアウトするとすぐにコースに戻されるのが気になりました。

初期バージョンには致命的なバグがあったＷＲＣ４ですが、もちろん
この廉価版では修正済み。
さらに価格も安くなって、ジャパンラリーのＤＶＤもついてきます。

人によって感じ方は違いますが
おそらく挙動などはリアル系とゲーム系の中間ぐらい。
リアル系にこだわるならRICHARD BURNS RALLYがありますが
あれは硬派すぎるので、一般的には、こちらのＷＲＣ４をオススメ。

データは２００４年。
２００５年版は日本ではＰＳＰで発売のようですが
特にこだわりがなければ、このＷＲＣ４で充分。

自然の中を走る、こういったラリーゲームは
普段レースゲームをやらない方にも
いいんじゃないでしょうか。


個人的な疑問点としては、素人でも名前を聞く
ローブ、グロンホルム、ソルベルク以上に
カルロス・サインツが強すぎる気がすること。
常に上位に名を連ねており、ごく最近のファンから見れば
不自然さを覚えてしまいます。

前作（WRC２のみですが）から比べて格段に進歩しています。ですが、タイヤ選択が出来ない（しても意味がないか…）状態。また、車の種類、コースもレースを重ね、ポイントを獲得していくことで選べるようになります。ですが、車の挙動が２に比べてシビア。WRC２の感覚で走らせるとクラッシュだらけです。おそらくこっちの方が実車に近いんでしょうが…。正直、まだこのあいだ買ったばかりなので、全然勝てません。ノーマルモードだけでなくイージーモードがあったら初心者でも楽しめると思います。「GT4」のように練習モードがあってもいいと思います。ライン取りなどは自分で走って確認していくしかないです。と言う事で、ラリー経験者には多分お手の物でしょうが、未経験者には辛いかも。
