すんばらしいアルバムだと思います。リズム＆ブルース、ソウルと
いってもよいでしょう。拓郎自身の気迫、全体の緊張感、音の厚さ、
時代にのってる男の勢い、バンドアレンジのセンスの良さ・・・。
かっこいいとはこういうことなのか！いちばんグッとくるのは詩の
素晴らしさです。このライブ会場に居合わせたオーディエンスが心底
うらやましいです。どらえもんにお願いしてこの現場にタイムスリップ
させて欲しいくらい・・・。

１９７３年中野サンプラザで収録。収録１３曲中９曲が当時の新曲だった。第１曲「春だったね73」のドライブ感は絶品。それが最終曲まで続く。バックも、高中正義(E.G)、松任谷正隆(Org)、田中清司(Dr)など一流のメンバーにブラスセッションという大編成。このアルバムのスリルとドライブ感は他の同世代ミュージシャンの追随を許さない。３０年経った今も、ベスト・ロックアルバムだと思う。
近作ライブ「豊かなる一日」も、このアルバムの影響を踏襲している。

このアルバム聴いてると最近の洋邦問わずアレンジ「だけ」がすんばらしく言葉が言葉として。。。日本語が日本語として機能してない「音」は何なんだ！と思ってしまいます。

近田春夫氏もおっしゃってますが「音」は磨けても「言葉」はその人の、もともと持ったセンスだ　という名言はまさにその通り。

私は「音」を聴くとき、殆どアレンジを無視して聴きます。作成した時代がもろに出ますから、意味がないと思う訳です。
「音」はその人のパワーで魅せるのだと思います。アレンジが古い/新しい　で聴くものではありません。

これは洋邦問わず言えることだと思います。その点、最近の「音」は各人の持っているパワーが落ちてるんじゃないのかなあと思う昨今なのです。

はなっから「春だったね」でとばしまくり、何故かライブ盤にしか入っていない「望みを捨てろ」で終わるこのライブアルバム。

「望みを捨てろ」はタイトルとは逆にいつも落ち込んでいるとき聴いてなぜか元気になるという名曲中の名曲です。

拓郎は80年代の「ひまわり」も「MUCH BETTER」も大好きですが、60年後半~70年代の爆発的な威力はなんなんだと思います。

最近の拓郎の声は昔以上に深く渋くなっていますね。

拓郎はフォークとしてくくられているけれど、日本の最高のソウルシンガーだと思います。
