2004年にニューヨークで結成されたSOFT（ソフト）の1stアルバム。

以前大阪で仕事をしていたというジョニー・レイネック（vo）が日本からNYへ渡り、04年彼が中心となってバンドを結成。
USの地で、本家UKバンドも真っ青な湿ったUKロック・サウンドを思いっきり鳴らし、レーベル未契約ながらHard-Fiや元ライドのマーク・ガードナーらがいち早く目を付け、才能と実力を見込んで前座に起用。
そこで彼らを目にしたUKプレスから注目を浴びるという経歴を持つ。
2005年アメリカのブログで最も話題になったバンドとしても知られており、「THE STONE ROSESの再来」、「ネクスト・ウェンブリーアリーナ」「THE STONE ROSESミーツMY BLOODY VALENTINE」等々と各方面から絶賛を浴びている。
2005年8月にはMAROON 5のロンドン公演のオープニングアクトもつとめた。

影響を受けたバンドとして「THE STONE ROSES、MY BLOODY VALENTINE、HAPPY MONDAYS、JESUS AND MARYCHAIN、PRIMAL SCREAM」を掲げているとおり、音楽的にはそれらのバンドのいいとこ取りをしている感がある。

1曲目の「Droppin'」を聞いたときは、正直にいうとTHE STONE ROSESの「I Wanna Be Adored」的だと感じたし、3曲目の「Higher」にはMY BLOODY VALENTINE的なアレンジが随所に施されている。

総括的な意見としては、やはり彼らが影響を受けたバンドを好きな人であれば一聴の価値はあると思います。
それなりに強気なキャラクターを持ち合わせている面もあるようですし、実際に大化けする可能性もあるでしょう。

最初の印象では、ストーンローゼズと比較されていたこともあり、先入観
があったためか、ローゼズっぽいとは全然思わなかった。
（Droppin'のオープニングは、はいかにもそれっぽいとは思ったが・・・）

このアルバムをよく聞いてみた感想としては、ローゼズのようなグルーブ感や
（ローゼズが）ビートルズ的といわれたようなソング・オリエンテッドな要素はないと思う。
そういった意味では、ローゼズ、ローゼズといわれるとどうしても違和感がある。

しかし、確実にローゼズの遺伝子を受け継いでいると思われる要素がある。
それは、One Love、I Wanna be adored、This is the one、などローゼズの
ある意味でブルージーで不器用さの感じられるようなメロディーライン、アンビエントな
音作り（ギターの音）そして重厚なグルーブ感である。

しかしながら、You make me wanna dieのメロディーラインはMade of stone を髣髴とさせる。
また、Hundred daysの終盤で一瞬リズムがとまり、また刻み始める場面は、Where Angels play
の終盤を思い起こさせる。全く違ったメロディー、リズムでありながら、ローゼズのメロディーから想起されるものをまた別の角度から思い起こさせられるようだ。

鳴り物入りといった感じですが、正直どうかな？
話題先行というか、マーケティングありきといった穿った見方も。
オープニングもいかにも感が漂います。
ローゼズにあったグルーブがないのが自分にはつらいですね。
