とは、”千年女優”以来、”妄想代理人”、”パプリカ”とコンビを組んでいる今敏監督の弁ですが、まったくその通りだと思います。
そして、ますます高みに上っていらっしゃる気がします。

その平沢進さんにしてみると、”音楽界は保守的だ！”となるわけですが、私なりに解釈してみると、いろんな素材の曲があっていいはずなのに、ほとんどが色恋をテーマとした甘い羊かんのような曲ばかりで、ぜんぜんおもしろくないし、範囲が狭すぎてすぐに行き詰ってしまうということではないかと思われます。（まあ苦いお茶があれば、たまには甘い羊かんもいいのですが。）

一言でいえば、音の遊び、言葉の遊びの横溢。
それでいて所々に織り込まれたドキッとするフレーズ。
いつもながらに捨て曲なし。
最も売りとなる曲を無料配信するこの度量は、すでに現世を解脱しておられる感さえあります。

その辺に氾濫する音楽に飽き足らない方におススメします。
最初に拒絶反応が出ますが、気がついたら癖になります。

初めにこの新作を聴いたときは「どうなんだろう？」と正直不安になった。
理由として以前の作品に比べ、音域が頻繁に変化する曲が多く、初めは理解が追いつかないからだ。
ところが、再生を繰り返して曲に慣れるに従い、総再生時間52分がどんどん短く感じられるようになってしまう。
そして歌詞を聞き取る余裕が出てきて、単語の羅列によって作り出されるイメージに想いを馳せるようになれば
もう立派な中毒者の完成だ。
初期の作品群に比べれば、さすがに若干の声の衰えは隠せないがそれでも
前作を遙に超える広大なイメージ世界を作り出してしまう氏の創作意欲にはただ脱帽するほかない。

待望の平沢進・10枚目のソロアルバム。
約2年の月日を経て、前作「BLUE LIMBO」を上回る秀作が発表された。
1曲目・『時間の西方』は宗教曲の様な合唱から始まり、独特の平沢氏の声が重なって行く。
全曲、歌詞が素晴らしい。
スピリチュアルにして壮大、荘厳。
そしてソロ作品に通ずる、美しいメロディーコード。
スケールの大きな作品群だ。

名盤「SIM　SITY」から連なる、”来なかった近未来”と言う雰囲気が
全体を包み込む。

存在しない過去、来る事の無い未来。
儚いペーソスすらも感じさせられるこの一枚は、平沢ファンならば是非、購入すべきだ。
