リックアストリーのカヴァー・アルバムが発売と聞いてその日に購入しました。内容としてはかなり昔の曲ばかりでしたが、自分も知っている曲が結構あったので買って良かったです。次のアルバムは、どんな曲で来るのかが楽しみです(^.^)b

Stock/Aitken/WatermanのPWLからデビューしたこともあって、
ディスコシンガーという捉え方をされることの多いリック・アストリーですが、
PWLを離れた後、クライミー・フィッシャーのロブ・フィッシャーをプロデューサーとして迎えたり、
マイケル・マクドナルドの曲を取り上げたり、
歌の上手さで売る路線での転換を図りましたが、セールス的にはパッとせず、
2002年のアルバム「Keep it turned on」からのファーストシングル「Sleeping」はここ数年なかったほどのディスコナンバーで、
「やっぱりディスコ路線で売るしかないのか？」とファンとしてヤキモキさせられましたけれど、
一時期離れていた古巣のSONY/BMGへ戻って作った今作はクラシックポップスのカバー集です。
彼の歌の上手さを堪能できます。オススメ！
ちなみに日本盤はボーナストラックとして1曲多く収録されています。
