２８年振り、御歳７７歳のバカラックのアルバム。正直嬉しいです。
作曲家の 三大"Ｂ"は バッハ、ブラームス、ベートーベン ではなく、バッハ、ビートルズ、そしてバカラック だと言った人がいるけれどまさにバート・バカラックは２０世紀最大の作曲家の一人です。
しかし バカラックの 魅力は作曲だけでなくその優しさに溢れカラフルでロマンチックで、そしてジャジーな「 バカラック・サウンド」と称される巧みなオーケストレーションにあります。もちろんこのアルバムも「バカラック・サウンド」は健在。大人のための上質なポップ・ミュージック・アルバム に仕上がっています。このアルバムを聞き終えるとなぜか心温まる素敵な恋愛映画を観たような満足感に浸れます。

かつて米国隋一のヒットメーカーであった彼が、そのキャリアの終章で唄うのはもはや輝きを失ってしまった合衆国への怒り、悲しみ。
残してゆく子供達の未来を憂うM-2、殺戮を続けるブッシュへの怒りを露わにしたM-4、美しい音楽に包まれた切実なメッセージ。
歌詞にもぜひ目を通して下さい。

Burt Bacharach氏がなんと28年ぶりにニューアルバムを出したとのこと！！

それがこのアルバム「At This Time 」

US盤は2005年の秋に発売されていますが
例のSONYのXCPソフト関連でいったん回収になってたみたいですね。

Burt Bacharachといえば、さっきitunesにとりこもうとしたら、ジャンルがeasy listeningになってました。
世間の認識はそうなのかなぁ。

そんなバカラック氏、1928年生まれなんで、もう７７歳。

すごい。77歳のつくったサウンドじゃないです。
なんでこんなにみずみずしいのか。
サウンドとしても、決して古くないですよ。
Dr. DREがドラムプログラミングしてる曲があったり（笑）

若造の語るアダルトな音楽なんてまだまだ子供。
これがほんとのアダルトなポップスだ！といわんばかりの
おしゃれでロマンティックな仕上がりです。
