ドラマの西遊記のエンディングが気に入っている
いわば通りすがりのファンですが、公式サイトに載っている
日本語訳の歌詞にすごく惹かれました。
「世界はめぐる　いつでも自分に　負けている人は　何も掴めない
大丈夫だからそこから逃げないで　僕はこの世界を変えてみせるさ」

人生という旅が、つらくて逃げたいとき、壁が立ちふさがったとき、例えるならば
好きなことをしたいと思っていながら、自分には力が無いと諦めたことってありませんか？
私はこの歌を聞いて歌詞を知って、自分が逃げていたことに気づかされました。

そしてまた、踏み出すことを躊躇している自分に
「地球にいる限り、別れてもいつかまた会うことができる、心配するな！」と
背中を押されたような、勇気づけられたような気さえしました。
そういう意味では、とても印象的な歌で、
聞いてると、とても元気とやる気が出て来る1曲です。

西遊記を意識したチャイナ風のサウンドや、親しみやすいメロディなど、
色んな要素が聴き手に強いインパクトを与える曲です。
英語と日本語を合わせた歌詞も良く、聴けば聴くほどこの曲の魅力が感じられます。

どちらかというと、デビュー曲「fly」の方が洋楽的J-POPというMONKEY MAJIKがもつ
音楽のコンセプトが感じられるので、もしこの曲でMONKEY MAJIKに興味を持ったのなら、
そちらも聴いてみるといいかもしれません。

メジャー第２弾でドラマ「西遊記」の主題歌。ちょっとドラマに合わせて中華風な仕上がり。でも、いつもどおりプラント兄弟のハーモニーは伸びやかできれいです。壮大な感じのする曲です。
