　田中扮する堂々たる卑弥呼ママと、陽気なゲイたちの終の棲みかであるはずのメゾン・ド・ヒミコは、欧風なおしゃれな外観とは裏腹に、内実は老いと病と資金不足の三重苦にあえいでいます。そしてそこに棲んでいる生息者たちの個性あふれる面々・・・ちょっと憂いを帯びた春彦・・ファンではない私をも惑わすほどのオダギリジョー扮する春彦・・・本当にステキです。その憂いは撮影当日の風邪ひきにあるとかないとか・・・！そして、きゅっと上がったかっこいいお尻と無精ひげが妙にエロチックな雰囲気を漂わせて、ゾクゾクするほどのいい男に仕上がってます。その対極線上にある柴崎コウ扮する、ぶっちょう面のどこにでもいそうな愛想のない事務員　沙織。これは柴崎コウが見事に演じきっていますね。
　原色大柄花模様に決して負けない、強烈な個性が光る田中眠の吐息が聞こえてきそうなほどのリアル感あふれる映像美が退廃的なムードをうまく演出しています。そそいて、ストレートの男はこんなにも色気がないのよ・・と言わんばかりの西島秀俊扮する、能不動な何も考えないノータリン社長も・・作品に花？を添えています。
そして、観終わった後の清清しさは、一体何なんでしょう？オダギリジョーと柴崎コウの妙を得た組み合わせと脚本のうまさが、いつまでも心に残る映画です。映画館で一人、作品に浸りきって観たかったですね。

トマス・ピンチョンの「競売ナンバー49の叫び」の終わり近くに、ヒロインのエディパがゲイの集会に紛れ込んでしまうというくだりがあった。性的に隔絶された環境に飛び込んだエディパは深い孤独に落ち込むのだが、ここでは、同じ立場の柴崎コウに限らず、すべての登場人物が孤独である。

「さわりたいとこ、ないんでしょう」という驚くべき台詞を柴崎に言わせた脚本（渡辺あや）には、かなりのキャッチーな才能を感じる。台詞がいいとかいうこと以上に、場面のつなぎ、小道具の使い方（マスクとか）など、よくできている。オダギリジョーが西島秀俊を誘惑するシーンも、なかなかのものである。

田中泯は、ほぼ最後まで、横たわったままの芝居である（食事シーンもあるが、ほぼ台詞と視線だけの芝居）。すごい身体感覚だ。

大磯あたりかなあ、と思って見ていたロケ地は、静岡にあるカフェ（？）だそうだ。

地味な事務員の前に、美しい青年が現れる。
彼は生き別れの彼女の父のゲイの「恋人」だった。
死期の近い彼女の父は、ゲイのための老人ホームを経営していた。
彼女はやむなくそこを手伝う羽目に・・というお話。


生きたいように生きることは、ときにラクではない。

「ゲイの老人ホーム」に中学生は落書きする。水風船を投げる。
薄毛の老人が美しいドレスではしゃいでいる姿は、やっぱりちょっと可笑しい。

「次に生まれ変わったら絶対女になるんだから！好きな服を好きなだけ着られるなんて、こんな幸せなことはないわ」

葛藤を乗り越えて好きな格好をしているゲイの老人もいるかと思えば、「鏡を見て悲しくなるから」着られない老人もいる。

脚本家は彼の葛藤を軽く笑い飛ばす。
「ブスで地味な事務員」の柴咲コウが言う。
「女だって何でも着られるわけじゃないよ。例えば・・バニーガールとか（の格好はできない）。」


ユーモアとペーソスの効いたストーリーのほかにも、特筆すべきは、オダギリジョーの佇まいの美しさ。
白いスーツに着替えて現れる彼の姿は、ちょっとした奇跡だ。
荒唐無稽になりかねない話を成立させているのは、決してでしゃばらないのに目を引き付ける彼の圧倒的な引力だ。
