Legendary conductor, the late CARLO MARIA GIULINI leads the Philharmonia Orchestra & Chorus in a wonderful and dramatic performance of VERDI's "REQUIEM MASS" featuring performances by soprano ILVA LIGABUE, mezzo GRACE BUMBRY, tenor SANDOR KONYA & bass RAFFAELE ARIE. This great performance was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on April 26, 1964.

Also included in this program is a performance of VERDI's "4 SACRED WORKS: AVE MARIA, STABAT MATER, LAUDI ALLA VERGINE MARIA and TE DEUM" by GIULINI conducting the New Philharmonia Orchestra & Chorus. This performance was filmed on March 3, 1968 at the Fairfield Hall in Croydon.
