このアルバムは、Metheny　Groupとしては２０年前に発表されたものですが、
そのサウンドは今聞いても新鮮な感じがしていてブラジル・ティスト溢れる仕上がりになっています。

一日が終わり寛ぎの時間やお酒を飲みながら聞くと贅沢過ぎるくらいにハッピーな
ひと時が過ごせるので聞かないと人生の損だと思います。

やはり、パットメセニー・グループを代表する名盤の１枚と言えるでしょう。
何回聞いても飽きることがなく、心地良さをいつでも感じられる、
最高なジャズ・フュージョンです。

８７年発表のアルバムで、彼らの最高傑作に押されることも多いアルバムです。
サウンド的には、前作から印象深かったヴォイスと音楽の調和を一層進めているのに加え、前作から今作発表までに、メセニーが、南米の鬼才ミルトンアシメントのアルバムに参加した影響もあり、ブラジルテイストが強く感じられるライトフュージョンになっています。
というゴタク以前に、このアルバムを一言で言えば「気持ち良さ」。もちろん、メンバー個々のテクニックは素晴らしいのですが、メセニー＆メイズの美しいメロディライン、ヴォイスと音楽の美しい調和に身を任せながら、休日のベッドでまどろむなんてのが最高に似合う、末永く付き合えるアルバムです。

かれこれ20年前の作品になってしまった。発売当初数年間、本当に聴きまくった記憶があります。百回以上は回してます。メセニーのブラジル指向がついに爆発、憧れのミルトンとの共演も実現し、1曲目からこの作品から発せられる心地よい風の真ん中に誘ってくれる、そんな作品です。
シンクラビア等々、恐らく当時最新鋭の機器も使われているに違いないのですが、この全く自然な作風はなんでしょう！メセニーが単なるギタリストではないことは何となく理解していたのですが、この作品でとてつもないスケールをもったミュージシャン、いやアーティストであることに圧倒された方は多いのではないのでしょうか。メセニーもメンバーチェンジごとに第●次なんて(某イギリスのワガママギタリストのバンドじゃあるまいし)表現もする方もいますが、レコード会社も変わり(それだけが大きいとは決して思いませんが)、正にこの作品がデビュー以降一つの区切りとなりその後の一層の飛躍があるような気がしてなりません。
併せて、本作品参加直後からのミルトンの作品もアーティスティックになった気がします。要は二人に化学反応が起こったに違いないのです！
ライル・メイズ、スティーヴ・ロドビー、ポール・ワーティコがいなければこんな音も出るはずはありませんが、当時としては斬新だったジャケットも何となく化学反応を予感させるものがありますよね。未体験の方、必聴です！
