高橋孝さんのステージや舞台における迫力は、声の張り、声量、安定感など高い完成度があり、この作品の技量の底辺もしっかりした力強さで支えられている。小椋佳さんご自身が彼のスタイルと将来性を認め、更に付け加えれば小椋さんが齢表現できない領域を託した、小椋佳作品の未来形とも言える。作品ひとつひとつへの感情移入は、小椋さん作品の性格と、高橋孝さんの技法との間で激しく対峙し、一種緊張感すら生み出している。この作品は、最初の一歩と言う点で貴重な作品であり、高橋孝さんご自身が体得されたものが、様々な機会に、大きく開花していくことが約束される作品に違いない。

高橋孝さんの、やわらかく暖かい歌声で、懐かしく素晴らしい日本語の世界が広がります。こぶしの入った、民謡でも演歌でもない新しいＪポップスが耳に身体にとても心地よい作品です。

今まで聞いたことがない感覚で民謡でもない、ポップスでもない不思議な感じの歌声です。
だけど、そこが又良い！！日本語がまっすぐ心の中に染みてくる。若いのにすごいなあと思います。
夜一人になったとき聞きたくなります。表題にもなっている「逢いたくて」が特に好きです。

民謡を軸にしながら洋楽的分野にも進出している高橋孝。このアルバムは彼にとって、大切な代表作のひとつとなることだろう。今後はそんな彼の独自性に大いに期待したい。
