Calibanを聞いたのは恥ずかしながら今回のThe Undying Darknessが
初めてだったのですが、店頭に並んだジャケットのイメージで
妙にきになって買ってしまいました。笑

ドイツが誇るメタル・コアシーン！と言われていますが
あまり激しいメタルを聞かない私にとっては、
意外と？スゴク聞きやいものでした。

声は今流行りのオルタナティブやスクリーモに多い高めの声と
図太いシャウトをかましているツインボーカルですが、
それが不自然じゃない清潔感のようなものを感じます。

音も重く、メタル好きだけでなく上記にも書いた
Bullet of My ValentineやKillswitch Engageが好きな人も
一度は聞いてみては如何でしょうか。

Ｃalibanの音楽が遂に確立したかな。

まずイントロがある、ここはかなりポイントが高い。
今までのＣalibanはファーストからサードまでは
イントロがあった。しかし前作にはそのイントロがなかった・・。
よくはわからないが原点回帰みたいな感じかな。

音にも自信の現れが出ている。
前作のように重圧で押して押しての音ではなくなった、ヴォーカルのアンディーの叫びにも表現力のようなものが現れてきたし、より美しいサビも聴けることができる。
バンド全体が勢いに乗っている。
無駄な部分が一切ない、といった感じだ。

聴く人によっては前作と全然変わってない、と言う人もいると思うが
明らかＣalibanは進化を遂げている。

メタルかハードコアなのか、などもうどうでも良い、聴いて欲しい。

二度の来日経験があるドイツの５人組の５ｔｈ。
憂いを帯びたリフが激しいリズムと一体となって刻まれ、しゃうとＶｏ．とメロディアスなクリーンＶｏ．がエモーションの激しい振幅を表現する。
メタルコアの範疇に入るバンドだが、彼らはメタルコアという言葉が流行る前からこのサウンドを身上としてきた。
音楽を聴くだけでは、アメリカのマサチューセッツ辺りの出身と勘違いしてもおかしくないぐらいだ。
