Product Description

Album Description

"I can't help but marvel over the joys one human's perceptions can bring another." - SPLENDID

"Solidly entertaining." - TROUSER PRESS

"A truly primitive and prolific talent." - EPITONIC

6 Dozen Cookies is a selection of stories written and read by David Fair and put to music with help from his brother Jad Fair. For years, the two recorded albums and toured as ber-important underground rock duo Half Japanese. Now, the brothers are together again and, as always, this is no ordinary collaboration.

Like Jad and David's previous collaborations, this project is fun, lighthearted, and a style all their own. These brothers, the most loveable and awkward sons of Michigan, share light, entertaining stories about the family and background of these genius iconoclastic antiheroes of outsider art. They are also a prolific pair. In total, they have recorded more albums than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones combined. Collaborations include work with Yo La Tengo, Daniel Johnston, J. Mascis, Mosquito, Kramer, Teenage Fanclub, John Zorn, Fred Frith and Moe Tucker. Just like Midas had the touch of gold, these brothers have the touch of music - they have changed the course of modern music, and acted as a beacon for others to follow.
