僕はＴＨＥ　ＷＨＯのファンなのですが、周りにＴＨＥ　ＷＨＯのファンがいません。
なぜこれだけ世界的に人気があり、後世の数々のバンドに多大な影響を
与えたバンドが日本で人気がないのでしょうか？
ひとつの理由として、なかなか来日を果たせなかったということが挙げられるかもしれません。(2004年7月にイベントで初来日)
ご存知の通りＴＨＥ　ＷＨＯのライブ・パフォーマンスは
とてつもないものですから、そのライブが生で見れなかったというのが、
日本でなかなか人気が出なかった理由のひとつかもしれません。
ですが楽曲は最高の一言です。
このアルバムは数々の彼らのヒット・ナンバーが収録されており、これからＴＨＥ　ＷＨＯの歴史を知る人のために
最適の一枚です。

このアルバムで初めてザ・フーを聴いた。ライブでギターやドラムをめちゃくちゃに壊すと言う話は前から知っていた。でもなかなか聴く機会がなかった。なのでこのアルバムをきっかけに聴いてみた。聴いてみると意外にかわいい音楽。でもフーの荒々しさが見え隠れする。後半はおとなしくなり、テクノを大胆に使い出す。フーの音楽性がどのように変わっていったかこのベストを聴けばよく分かる。僕のようなザ・フー初心者のためのアルバムだ。
