　これからＫｉｓｓを聴こうと思っているけど、どれから聴こうかと思っている人に最適のベストアルバム。キャッチーでほどよくポップな要素を含んだＫｉｓｓならではのハードロックを堪能できます。またリマスターされていて非常に音質が良いです。全ての楽器の音が鮮明に聞こえてきます。
　コアなファンにしてみれば、選曲や曲の並びに不満をもつ人もいるかもしれませんが、普通にロックが好きな人なら、「Ｋｉｓｓならでは」といえるような楽曲がズラリとならんでいるので、とても楽しめると思います。「Ｓｈｏｕｔ　Ｉｔ　Ｌｏｕｄ」のライヴヴァージョンが収録されていますが、例の御馴染みのオープニングのナレーションから始まり、安定した演奏で非常に楽しめます。
　ところで私はジーンシモンズのベースプレイが結構好きです。ポールマッカートニーのハードロック版とでもいいましょうか、シンプルながらもメロディックなフレージングが非常に印象に残ります。
　単なる音楽好きのみならず、ベースギターに興味のある人にもお薦めのアルバムです。

代表曲がほぼ網羅されておりこの値段なので、これから聴いてみようという方には一番お薦め出来る盤でしょう。音もいいですし。
キッスというとサーカス的なギミックの部分ばかりが目立っていますが、当然のことながら楽曲の魅力あってのモンスターバンドだということが良くわかります。
特に「ハードラックウーマン」や「激しい愛を」「ベス」などに顕著なポールスタンレーのメロディメーカーの才能を味わえる選曲になっています。
キッスのハードロック的側面に大きく貢献しているリフがカッコいいエースの曲（「パラサイト」や「コールドジン」「ロケットライド」など）が「ショックミー」しか入っていないので、そちらに興味のある方はオリジナルアルバムも聴いてみてください。

キッスの初期ヒット曲「デトロイト・ロック・シティ」の凄まじさは言い古されている。この伝統あるグループはメイク路線を脱ぎ捨てた。最近はニューアルバムの発表は無いが、日本公演を行ったりして、ファンには嬉しい限りだ。初期の名曲も良いが、比較的新しい曲に、より洗練されたロック魂を感じる。特に、アコースティックギターの美しい響きで始まる「ロック・ボトム」は美そのものだ。「ベス」の響きも美しい。

「雷神」はライヴテイクを集録。
ベテランバンドのエッセンスを１枚のＣＤで楽しめる。
キッスの初来日公演を聴いた年代の人間には、懐古的郷愁も加わり、感動ものだ。
