去年秋に衝撃的なターヤの解雇を発表したナイトウィッシュのBOX SET。
CD２枚、DVDで、CD-1がデビューから一昨年のワンスまでの曲に、PINK FLOYDのカヴァー曲が収められていて、CD-２にライヴヴァージョン等を収録。
そして、ライヴ、プロモを含むDVDだ。
ターヤと別れた理由は、人間関係で上手くいかなかったもので、さらにその傷はかなり深いという・・・
去年の3月に来日した半年後の出来事。
まだ1回しか来日してないのに・・・ファンとしてはこれはあまりにも痛すぎる。
とにかく今はこのBOX SETで満足するしかない。
内容はもちろんおさえるべき曲はおさえています。
ゴシックやシンフォニックパワーメタルのファンでも、まだ聴いたことの無い人には是非これを。
それだけの価値はあります。

一度目はトイズファクトリーからベスト的企画のCDを発売したが
今回のと違う点は彼らの最新アルバムONCEからの選曲や
プロモやライヴを収めたDVDとB面サイド的楽曲を提供してくれる。
彼らの作品には名曲が多いけど中でもおすすめな
オリジナル版のカムカバーミーやフィンランド詩の
クオレマテキータイテイヤン、ザ　ファラオ　セイルズ　トゥ　オリオン
などが入ってないのが残念だった。
彼らのDVDを毎回見て思うけれどやっぱり技術面でも優れていると思う。
これを見るたびこのバンドなら実際のライヴ会場で
聞きたかったと思ってしまいます

今回のベストは外箱入りだからナイトウィッシュマニアの私にとって
豪華な感じがするデザインで良かった。
ターヤの時期のナイトウィッシュはひとまず幕を閉じてしまうのが
悲しいですが　この作品に作られているものが完璧だっただけに　
また彼らの出来の良い新作が出るのをついつい期待しつづけてしまいます。

前回のベストやオリジナル作品を持っている私でも充分楽しめましたので
おすすめです。メロディ性に富んでいて
シンフォニック／ゴシックメタル／ハードロックですが
そのジャンルを気にさせる事ない、すばらしい音楽性で
聞きごたえあり飽きさせません。

DVD無しの輸入盤もでているが、真骨頂であるゴースト・ラブ・スコアやクリーク・メリー・ブラッドが抜けている。

ライブもターヤラストライブの出来のほうが数倍上なので、これからNWを聴き始める方には余りお薦めできません。
