この時期のシングルはもはや「趣味の音楽」化しており、「ヒット狙いのキャッチーな楽曲」とは一味違う。ドラマタイアップの「未来へのプレゼント」のような従来の美穂を楽しめる曲より、激渋な「Adore」や浮遊感が楽しめる「マーチカラー」など。ただし「シングル化すること」に対しては疑問的なマニアックな曲であり、長いこと彼女のファンでないと受け入れられない部分もあるかも。

中山美穂のシングルを発表順に収めたシリーズ4枚目。実際は99年9月にリリースされた「Adore」の時点で、もう1枚次にシングルがリリースされれば発表されていたハズでした。しかしそれ以降彼女はスターダストテーブルという音楽配信で新曲を3度発表、シングル曲としての扱いとは違うので今作の発売に至らず、01年以降は現在まで音楽活動を停止。よってシングルのコンプリートボックスが発売されるのを機に今回のシリーズ最新作の発売に至ったわけです。彼女の新作はいつか必ず発表されると期待して、次なる「5」に願いをこめて、ファンなら手にしておきたい1枚です。
