ファンク・ソウル・バンドであるAWBがAOR界きってのデヴィッド・フォスターにプロデュースを依頼して完成したソウルAORの金字塔CD。

　ファンクソウルとしAWBが好きな人には不満が残るかもしれないが、AORファンにとっては、いつまでも語り継がれる名作。それもAWBの今までのファンク・ソウルバンドとしての実力とAOR界きってのデヴィッド・フォスターのそれぞれが最も旬だった時期にコラボレートしたからにほかならない。

　1から、AORとSOULの融合。グルーブ感あふれ、コーラスとホーンセッションとベースを中心としたリズム隊が見事。2は一転してバラード。LIGHT＆MELLOWという言葉がぴったり。AW＆Fのバラードが好きな人にはたまらない曲です。3はファーストシングルとしてカットされたノリノリのホーンとリズ!ムにSOULバンドながらPOPな魅力満載の曲。4はこのCDで最も有名な曲で誰もが知っている名曲。なぜならあのチャカ・カーンがカバーしたからに他ならない。メンバーとネッド・ドヒニー共作のスタンダードナンバー。ミディアムテンポでバックの演奏がいつまで耳の残る見事な曲です。5はちょっとファンキーかつジャージーでアーバンテイストたっぷりのホーンもいい。6は、SOUL魂いっぱいのホーンがうなります。7はストリングスのイントロが印象的で、アランのボーカルが力まずにコーラスと絡んで心良い。8はまたまたバラード。ゆったりとした語りかけるよう歌い始めるボーカルとシンプルな演奏が和ませてくれます。9は、アルバムタイトルでAORテイスト、ホーン、コーラスとが見事に混じり合っています。

　特にLPのA!面にあたる1~5までは、ため息が出るほど素晴らしい。このCDがAOR界で高い評価を受けていることも頷けます。SOUL好き、AOR好きの人にはたまらない作品です。

アルバムの内容は、ええんです。
ええんやけど…。

ＣＤの“帯”にロマンを求める人には向かへんですわ。
なぜなら帯におもっきし値段を書かれてて、それが安っぽいこと極まりないっっ！！

安くて入手できるんはええんやけど、
うーん…。
なんか…。
なんかねえ…。
ムカつくわ！！この、やっすい“帯”が！！

アルバムの内容はええねんけどなあ…。
“帯”に風格があったら星５にすんねんけどなあ…。
