これは正直評価の分かれるアルバムになりそうですね。
「七色」や「Horizon」での聴きやすい曲をお好みの方は多少、ジャズトロのイメージが変わるかもしれません。

でも私は、今年の8月にリリースされた「CANNIBAL ROCK」と比較すると、こちらの「en:Code」のほうが断然好みです。

野崎さんはCANNIBAL ROCKとこのアルバムをどちらも聴いて、Jazztronikの音楽を知って欲しいと考えておられるようです。少しラテン色が入っていた「CANNIBAL ROCK」だけを聴いて「ジャズトロってラテンなんだ」という判断はして欲しくないと、雑誌のインタビューでおっしゃってました。

まぁそれはさておき、
素晴らしいです。
何がって、1曲目から10分足らずの大作「PATHWAYS」。
壮大、荘厳、重厚、そして爽快感も持ち合わせたこの曲。
まるで大きなキャンバスに描かれた一枚の風景画を見ているかのようです。
Jazztronikはまた一段、新たなステージに上りましたね。
この曲はすでにヨーロッパ（特にUKでしょうか）で、
Gilles Petersonが自身のラジオ番組Worldwideでプッシュしたりしており、
Samuraiの再来かという勢いで曲が独り歩きしているそうです。
私はこの曲で久々に鳥肌が立ちました。
野崎さんのミュージシャンシップが思いっきり発揮されている曲ではないかと。

ゲスト陣も豪華で、鼓童、Marcos Valle、Rob Gallagher、Valerie Etienne、福富幸宏、Sonia Santana、Fukko（Core Of Soul)などなど。
特筆すべきは、野崎さんからデモテープを渡されたのがきっかけで野崎さんがアーティストとしてデビューするきっかけを作った、葉加瀬太郎さんがついにゲスト参加してくれていることですね。お二人は今でもとっても仲が良いようです。これも良い曲なのでお楽しみに。

初期の作品（Numero UnoやInner Flightなど）を彷彿とさせる、静かな空気感を持ったアルバムです。ダンスミュージックとかクラブミュージックとかいう枠を超えて、
「音楽」というレベルで楽しめる作品だと思います。

音楽自体はかなり大人な仕上がりになっていますが、やはり秋に発売されたCANNIBAL ROCKとセットで1枚という感じがします。

PATHWAYSはいいですね。
また、タイトルにもなっている鼓動との競作en:Codeはすばらしく、JAZZで言えば
CHICK KOREAのようなちょっとフュージョンも入っているような、そんな印象を受けます。

葉加瀬太郎氏とのLITTLE TREEは、もはやクラシックと言ってもいいでしょう。

そして、最後にTIGER EYES(CLUB VERSION)で占めるところがにニクイですな。
前作では、歌モノのSEARCHING FOR LOVEが冒頭にあったので、これも演出なのでしょうか。
