テレビから流れてきた声に立ち止まったのは
いつ以来でしょうか。。。

それは、日本郵政公社のＣＭから
聴こえてきた声の持ち主は中孝介という
奄美大島出身のアーティストでした。

マテリアの中に収録されている「家路」という曲は
日本郵政公社「手紙ってドキドキする」という
ふるさとをテーマにしたTV CFソングになっています。
「家路」はＣＭに描かれているふるさとの情景に
溶け込み、懐かしさや、
ゆったりとしたふるさとの空気を演出しています。
ＣＭをみて心が穏やかに、豊かになったのは
はじめてかもしれません。

このＣＭを手がけたクリエイターの方の
感覚とまだ無名の中孝介さんの
楽曲をはめた先見性に拍手です。

都会の喧騒に疲れた時、
彼の歌声は誰の心の中にもある
ふるさとを思い出させてくれて
穏やかな気持ちにしてくれます。

これから日本を代表するシンガーになることを
期待して星５つでおすすめいたします。

中孝介のライブに行って驚くのは、ＣＤよりずっと力強い声と、ちょっとハスキーで分厚い中低音の伸び。この分厚い中低音からあの美しいファルセットへの目の覚めるような展開が中孝介の魅力だと思う。こうした魅力が一番よくわかるＣＤがこのマテリアではないだろうか。名曲「家路」はもちろん、他の曲も皆、とてもすばらしい。

島唄の歌い手として、奄美大島を中心に活動している中孝介（あたり　こうすけ）、初のポップス・ミニアルバムが、この「マテリヤ」。
「マテリヤ」とは、奄美大島の方言で「天から差す光」の意だとか。

　元ちとせやRIKKIなど、琉球独特のコブシ回しでポップスを歌うアーティストは自分の知る限り女性ばかり。
　そういう意味でも彼は希有な存在だけど、その歌声は一時の話題だけで片付けられるようなものではない。
　島唄で培われた歌唱力はもちろんのこと、彼の持つ何よりの魅力は、唯一無二の「声」だ。
時に暖かく柔らかく、時に鋭く澄み渡る彼の声は、鮮やかに彩りを変えながら聴き手を包み込む。故郷への回帰を連想する曲調とも相まって、言いようのない懐かしさを感じずにはいられない。
　「うたのしま」からポップスに乗り込んできた大型新人・中孝介の、これからの活躍が期待出来る充実の一枚。
