１９７０年前後のアメリカン・ニュー・シネマといわれた一群の作品の中でも将来に残すべき名作のひとつ、本作品は特に「イージー・ライダー」と双子のようなものです、前回２００３年発売DVDがまだ入手可能ですがあまり変わらない価格で再登場、今回はサントラCD附属が購買欲をそそります、

監督したＪ・Ｗ・ガルシオは当時、大ヒットを連発しブラス・ロック・バンドとして世界的に大人気だったシカゴ（トランジット・オーソリティ）の音楽プロデューサーを務め、シカゴ売り出しの大功労者だった業界著名人、シカゴの成功で得た収益と人脈を継ぎこんでおもうように製作したのがこの映画、

映画内容のレビューは前回発売盤で何人ものレビュアが丁寧に解説しており参考になります、「フォレスト・ガンプ」が本作の数年後に同じアリゾナの砂漠をジョギングしたのだな、とおもえば「時代の臭い」のようなものが強烈に伝わるのではないでしょうか、

シカゴのメンバーが出演していることが話題ですが、使用された音楽も実はシカゴの演奏によるもの、それも片手間仕事のアウトテイクというには充分過ぎるほど良いものです、サントラＣＤ単体は世界的に未発売のようなのでこの企画はとても良、「ブラザー・サン・シスター・ムーン」と「クロスロード」で同じようにＤＶＤ＋ＣＤを多くのファンが望んでいるとおもう、

　これを見たのはまだ小学生だったと思います。地方都市の田舎の学校から下校してテレビで偶然観た映画でした。この映画のラストシーンがあまりにショッキングで、そのあとしばらくは脳裏に焼き付き道路の真ん中で主人公のラストシーンを真似したり、、テーマ曲は黒人賛歌であることと同じフレーズを繰り返す唄だという思い出だけはありました。、しかし、成長と共に忘れさりその後思い出すきっかけもなく、しかし突然にＤＶＤ＋ＣＤ＋豪華特典付きで目の前にしたときにはその時の思いに背筋がぞくぞくした位です。映画自体の興行成績がどうだったかは知りませんが、それにしてもここまでデラックスな内容のＤＶＤの企画に値する作品だったのですね、その１セットを手に出来て光栄です。
