   野中英次の原作コミックを、『地獄甲子園』などコミックの映画化に定評がある山口雄大監督が実写化。原作の持つ、いい意味でのバカバカしさが残されているのは、コミックのファンにはうれしい限りだ。不良ばかりのクロマティ高校に間違って入学した神山高志は、学内を改革しようとするが、もろくもその目論見は外れる。やがてハイジャック犯や、ゴリラ、財団の御曹司が入り乱れ、神山らは、なぜか「地球防衛軍」を組織することに！
   原作のエピソードを詰め込んだ、とんでもない展開に、とても高校生には見えない渡辺裕之や高山善廣らによる怪演。さらに着ぐるみのゴリラなど強烈な脇役たちが、ハイテンションな熱気と、とぼけた空気感の両方を生み出す。ストーリーの辻褄合わせは皆無なので、ひたすらその世界に身を任せて苦笑＆爆笑すればいいだろう。原作にはない要素では、往年の人気アニメのキャラ「宇宙猿人ゴリ」が登場。そのレトロなテイストが、クロ高ワールドにマッチしている。（斉藤博昭）

この映画、大爆笑も無ければ笑えないわけでもない
ただ一定にシュールなギャグのオンパレードであり、無駄に豪華なキャストの見事な演技力により独特の雰囲気を醸し出している。
始終ニヤリとさせられる作品である

あの独特のテンポは健在でした。
マンガもアニメもそうですが、好きな人・嫌いな人と
分かれる感じですよね、この作品。
キャラクターは結構お似合いの配役でした。
唯一は、フレディ役に格闘家（プロレスラー？）の
「ドン・フライ」にお願いして欲しかったです。
私のイメージは常にドン・フライなので・・
プロレスfanにもうれしい、高山さんも出てるし、
亡くなった橋本真也も出てます。（チョットだけど）
メカ沢君がかなりリアルで、ビーム出しちゃってるし。
プータンも出てるなど結構細かい見所があります。
なので、クロ高fan必見かなー

原作読んでても、ゆるいテンポと急激な展開にかなり置いて行かれます。
なのでこれはある意味「オリジナル」と言っていいと思います（笑）。

はじめは原作初期エピソードを中心に描かれています。
真面目な神山君がクロマティ高校を選んだ経緯、バカバカしくも奇抜でパワフルな学校生活。
しかしフレディやゴリラやメカ沢など主要人物が出揃うと、話は段々オリジナル方面に流れてゆきます。
北斗軍団はその姿を地球防衛軍へと変え、宇宙猿人ゴリ＆ラーと対決…。
しかしそんなとんでもない展開でも、クロマティ「らしさ」をはみ出していない感じがするのが不思議です。

配役は絶妙で、キャラクター性が視覚的なものだけではないことを思い知らせてくれると思います。
みんなに「ああ、こういう（キャラ名）もありかぁ」と言う不思議な存在感がありました。

抱腹絶倒はできませんでしたが、なにやら脳にジンワリ染み、粘っこくまとわりついて来て癖になります（笑）。
本編にスタッフ・役者さんのコメントが被るオーディオコメンタリーも裏話満載で苦笑がもれます。
