まず、ホーボー・キング・バンドの演奏がすばらしいです。佐野さんはツアー前に「スタジオ・テイクは練りこんだアレンジなので、ライヴでもそのまま行きたい」とおっしゃっていました。でも、こうして、DVDだけではなくCDでも音を聴いてみると、けっこう、スタジオ録音とちがうライヴ・アレンジもあることに気づいたりもします。
次に、佐野さんのヴォーカルについて。かねてから多くの人に指摘されているように、佐野さんの歌唱は、どの曲でも最低一個所は、声がかすれたり、音程が外れたりしているように聞こえます。ただ、肯定的な解釈もありえます。つまり、「最後の１ピース」に出てくる「チェット・ベイカー」のようなウィスパー・ヴォーカルのようなものを意図しているのか、あるいはロック・バンド「R．E．M」のヴォーカル、マイケル・スタイプのインプロヴィゼーション・ヴォーカルのようなものを意図しているのか。いずれにしろ、佐野さんのヴォーカルに聞き苦しいほどの瑕（きず）はないです。
最後に、佐野さんのコメントがいいですね。歌詞をまちがえたので、迷った末に、（アフレコでヴォーカルを）直した、などのコメントは正直でいいと思います。そして、それよりも重要なのは、バンド・メンバーの演奏や客席参加の合唱を称えるコメントです。このライヴ（・アルバム）が自分と多くの人々との共同作業であることを暗示しようとする。そういう佐野さんの姿勢がいいです。

05年、THE SUNツアー最終日を収録したライヴアルバム。
iTunes Music Storeで先行発売されたもののCD化。

この日の映像は既にビデオ化されており、曲数の少ないiTMSでの発売はどういった意味があるのか
わかりませんでしたが、音だけを持ち歩いて聞く人へ向けてのリリースだったのかもしれない。
このCD版では、SMEリリースの為かダウンロード販売できなかった「月夜を往け」「君の魂　大事な魂」を含み、
佐野元春自身による楽曲解説が6トラック収録しています。

各トラックが独立している為かライヴを再現というよりは、ライヴ音源を収録したコンピレーションという趣。
本人もコレクターズアイテム的なものと考えているように、熱心なマニアの為のアイテムだと思われます。

演奏自体は素晴らしいものですが、まずは「THE SUN」以外の名演を含むDVDを。

滑り出す光。転がりながら観客席に広がる音と詩。
ステージの中央にいて、艶のある演奏を全身で浴びているような感覚。
曲の合間のコメントは、知っていながらいちいち驚いてしまう。
彼の震える歌声もちょっとセクシーでした。
