Craftは現代の日本にとって、60年代のアメリカにとってボブ・ディランがそうであり、80年代のU2がそうであったような存在になるかも知れない。大胆に現実社会と切り結ぶその音楽はしかし決して安易なスローガンや説教臭さに走ることなく、どうしようもなく閉塞し矛盾だらけの現実にぶつかった少年のように純粋なエモーション、その挫折と悩み、それを乗り越える力強さを歌い、踊っている。ヒップホップのリズムだけをコピーする和製ラップが多い中で、MASATOの歌詞はヒップホップ本来の反逆の魂を受け継ぎながら、それを見事なまでに現代の生の日本語のリズムにアダプトし、素晴らしくポエティックで、心を打つ。

まだこのCDがリリースされる以前にストリートでの彼らのパフォーマンスに引き込まれ、映画の挿入歌として使わせてもらった。ベルリン国際映画祭を革切りに世界各地の映画祭で上映しているが、その度に必ずと言っていいほどこの素晴らしい音楽はどこで手に入れられるのかと質問される。それは当然のことだと思う。

公式ウェブサイトにはこのアルバムの発表後に作られた新曲「静寂トワイライト」のライヴ・ビデオも掲載されているが、この曲のCDリリースも待ち遠しい。
