2001から全タイトル買ってますが、今回の2005が最高。いきなり１曲目でがつんとパンチを食らわされたような衝撃（感動）を受けました。
これまでJAZZは50年代と決めてかかっていましたが、このシリーズを知って新たな感動を得ました。特に音質は最高です。本作品を絶対に推薦します。

Ｊａｚｚ　ｂａｒシリーズを初めて買ってみた。さすがというほかはない。こんなコンピをそう簡単にできるものじゃない。脱帽です。特にヴォーカルの３曲、それにSliding hammersがいい。この選び方の妙。しかしである。しかし異物が一つ混じっている。Hakuei　Kim　Torioである。寺島氏のライナーに寄れば「人として１ミリも憎めないハクエイ・キム。あの人がやったからいい。人間らしくていいじゃないか。」とあるが、意味不明。こちらはハクエイさんと付き合いがあるわけじゃなし、音を聴くだけである。最後のDavid　Hazeltineもリリカルに流れただけの曲に聞こえるが、ラストがこれでいいのか？まさかGoodbyeというタイトルにこだわったわけでもなかろうが・・・。ラスト２曲で★一つ減。

俺の大好きなサンタナの“MOONFLOWER”がこういう形で聴けるとは思っていませんでした。超絶テクのギターが凄い！まるで運指トレーニングの速弾きの如きルイス・ヴァン・ダイクのピアノも凄い！演奏終了後の拍手を聞いてこれがライヴだと知り二度驚かされました。寺島さんの楽しい解説とゴキゲンな選曲にジャケット、中ジャケも好感度＋で絶対後悔しないオススメアルバムです。
