「月刊Gファンタジー」にて連載中の氷川へきる原作によるスクールコメディアニメシリーズ第3巻。ベッキーは大学時代の教授から遺跡調査を頼まれ、ポンポン船に乗って日本の果てにある沖之毒島に向かうが…。第9話から第12話までを収録。

私の記憶が確かならば、前巻収録の第6話、第8話、そして今巻に収録されている第10話、第12話あたりから、本作のネットでの評判も急速に高まり、「これはひょっとして凄い作品になるんじゃないか？」という意見が散見されるようになったかと思う。

個人的には第1話から「これは傑作になる！」と確信していたのだが、どうも世間では序盤の数話について「テンションの高い演出・凝ったビジュアルに比して、ギャグが滑り気味」という指摘が多かったようだ。

確かに、序盤ではまだ現場と脚本とに温度差があって、どんどん過激になる演出に、脚本のテンションが追いつかなかったようにも思う。今巻あたりからは脚本陣がキャラクターの個性を捉え出して、秀逸なセリフが目立つようになり、晴れて傑作になるべく動き出した印象だ。

特に今巻においては、第10話と第12話の脚本を担当した高山カツヒコの貢献が大きい。豊富な知識に支えられた、饒舌でマニアックな語り口と、膨大な引用・パロディは「ぱにぽにだっしゅ！」の方向性を決定づけたと言っても過言では無いだろう。

さて、DVDでは恒例となった手直しだが、まず第9話の修正量が凄い。
作画の修正や追加、テロップや黒板ネタの追加など、半数近くのカットで何らかの改変があるのではないか、と思わせる。実際、テレビ版には無いスタッフ名がかなり見られる。他の各話も、細々とした修正が多数ある。

また、OP曲が本巻ではすべて「ルーレット☆ルーレット」に統一されている。
本放送時には、余りにも「黄色いバカンス」が流れる話数が多かったので、丁度良いバランス修正だと思う。

また、第1巻ではやや内容の薄かったブックレットも、第2巻、本巻と徐々に内容を増して充実してきている。特に主要スタッフのインタビューは興味深い。
各巻4話収録というボリュームも含めて、実にサービス満点で商品価値の高いDVDである。

まず凄いと思うのが、キャラクターの多さ、そしてすべてのキャラクターがいきいきしていて楽しい、そうとうのマニアでないとわからないこネタ満載！でただ鑑賞するのではなく、そういうネタを探して何度も楽しめる、この巻では主人公ベッキーの恩師のメイド、メディアが登場する、メディア好きとしてはとても嬉しい！
また、癒し系魔法少女べホイミとメイドキャラ、メディアのある意味最強コンビが活躍する話もありかなり贅沢な感じ、べホイミはそういえば
姿が変わりましたね、メディアが登場するための配慮か？
べホイミ好きな人はガッカリしたかもしれませんね、ですがそれがまたいいとおもいます。長くなりましたが、かなり贅沢なアニメです、DVDも４話も収録していてお得です、その分値段は高いですが、お金に余裕がある方は買いですよ！！

この作品の魅力は、キャラクターの可愛さや数々のパロディ・小ネタはもちろんだが、独特の演出や画面構成力の高さ・色彩感覚の豊かさにもあると思う。
特に、この3巻から使われているオープニング「ルーレット☆ルーレット」にはそうした要素が凝縮されている。
また、ワイプやちびキャラを多用したテンポの良い演出・なども、従来のアニメではあまり見受けられない斬新な手法だと思う。
そして限定版の特典BOXはインパクトのある「一条祭」仕様であり、エンドカードホルダーも付属されている。
