ジェイクの弾くウクレレの音には、言葉で表現できない、何かとても素敵なものが、たくさんつまっています。このＣＤを聴いてそう思いました。前作ＤＯＲＡＧＯＮでは、キラキラとした派手さが１曲めからドカ〜ン、ときた感じがありましたが、今回のアルバムでは、どの曲を聴いても、ココロの中に温かい何かが、じわ〜っと湧き出てくるような感覚がありました。ウクレレソロなので、ある意味で余計な音がしないというか、ジェイクの良さがとても良く出ています。ただただジェイクのテクニックに圧倒される・・・、というのは前作までなのかも・・・、と思ってしまいました。ジェイクの弾くビートルズは、とても心に潤いをくれました。ジェイクの人間性とか、そういうものがウクレレの音から聴く人へ、伝わるアルバムになっていると思います。このアルバムを聴けば、いつもの平凡な１日でも、とても素敵な１日になる・・・、そう思わせてくれる１枚です。

いやいや！まともな形で初めてウクレレのソロ、それも今まで名前しか知らなかったジェイク・シマブクロのアルバム、最高に感動しました！早弾きだとか技術面ですごいとしか知らなくて、自分がウクレレをこれから弾けるように勉強する参考になればという程度で購入したのに、今では朝のひと時や通勤や寝る前などスキあらば聴いてます。激しい曲・パートも、しっとりと穏やかな曲・パートも情感たっぷりに演奏していて、その世界に引き込まれつつ癒されています。確かに、ウクレレってこんな音が出せたんだと驚かされたりしていい刺激にもなりました。確かに曲数では6曲、時間で23分ぐらいですが、それをいつまでも聴いていたいと思わせる表現力、それはジェイク・シマブクロの人間性の滲み出た心地よさなのかもしれません。迷ってる方はぜひ聴いていただきたいCDです。

ＪａｋｅのウクレレソロＣＤがついに出てファンとしてうれしい限りです。
ウクレレ＝ハワイアンと思っていらっしゃる方も、ぜひ聴いてみてください。
ギターとはまた違う、４本の弦から紡ぎだされるメロディーラインの美しさと、Ｊａｋｅの超絶テクニックを十分堪能できます。
ハワイは常夏の島ですが、Ｊａｋｅのウクレレは、これから冬に向かう日本の季節にもマッチした、暖かな音色を心に響かせてくれることと思います。
