5.0 out of 5 stars あの「パールピアス」の頃のユーミンが帰ってきた, 2006/7/1
もうユーミンってベスト盤しか聴かないなあ、なんて思ったんだけど今回のは素晴らしい。
「海」というテーマへの原点回帰。ムダが無く、ソリッドなサウンド。歌詞も回りくどくなく、シンプル。
それでいてタイアップされた曲も多くキャッチーで上質なポップソングに仕上がっている。
特に「海に来て」「哀しみのルート16」は絶品。

もし、あなたが過去にユーミンの曲で海やゲレンデにドライブした記憶があれば
今回の新譜「A Girl in Summer」は買いでしょう。素敵な時間を過ごしてください。

海がテーマのアルバムだから夏のアルバムと思いがちですが、特に夏を感じさせる熱いアルバムというわけではないので一年中聞けると思います。秋や冬の海にもとても良く合うんじゃないかと思います。
ここからは個人的な話ですが、僕がユーミンにハマったのは親が好きなのでCDを借りて聞いたらユーミンにハマってしまいました。そしてこのアルバムははじめて発売日に買ったオリジナルアルバムです。
まだまだ16歳の僕にはユーミンの楽曲の深い部分までは理解できないかもしれませんが、大人になるにつれてわかるようになったらいいなと思います。大人になってもずっと聞いていきたいアルバムです。

デビュー34年目の34作目。某視聴サイトで全曲聴いてみましたが、今度の新作は相当いいです。なにより驚くのは、声の張り。ユーミンはけして歌唱力で評価されてきたアーティストではありませんが、新作では、どの曲もヴォーカルの若々しさが印象的です。そして、楽曲のクオリティの高さ。熟練のタフネスと、ロックする少女の感性が同居したような詩世界は唯一無二の出来だと思います。たくましく涼やかに生きる姿勢を気づかせてくれる名盤の誕生です。
