ＮＹを代表するコンテンポラリー系ギタリストの第一人者ベン・モンダーの最新作です。レコーディング自体は２００４年で２００５年に発売されました。２０００年に発表された「Excavation」以来の約５年ぶりのアルバムになりますが、この前作でも参加していたドイツが生んだ奇才テオ・ブレックマンが引き続いてボーカルを担当し、また独自の音世界を展開しています。

ベン・モンダーの最大の特徴は何と言っても「光速アルペジオ」にありますが、このアルバムでももちろん健在です。1「Still Motion」からいきなり光速アルペジオが延々と聴かれますが、前作では12弦ギターを駆使していたのに対して、今回は渋くアコースティックギターを使用。コード展開のたびにフレット移動の音が響き渡り、静寂な中にも妙な緊張感をもたらします。ベン・モンダーによる桃源郷を想起させるギターに、今度はテオ・ブレックマンのファルセットを多用した何とも言いようもない幻想的なボーカルが被さり、それからはいつもの幻想的な音の世界へと突入します。

ベン・モンダーのアルバムには必ず1曲だけソロギターをとる曲がありますが、6「Room Of Light」がそれで、今回は一見プログレ風の激しいリフに、若干ロバート・フリップを想起させるロングトーンソロはかなり過激で、これまで3枚出ている彼の作品を入れても、ベストプレイとも言える熱演。この曲で聴く者を煽るだけ煽っておいて、最後の曲で静かだけれども、相変わらず目まぐるしいコード展開の曲で冷却化を促すあたりは正直言って「また、やられたー！」という心憎い演出です。いまのところ、2005年のマイベストアルバムの筆頭です。
