鍵盤の上でどういう音でどういうリズムで・・・って
説明できないことをサラーとかっこよく表現してしまう人
聞いていたらクラクラして来て酔っ払う　最高

「ａｎｇｅｌ」が一番好き。ファレルは声もいい！！

スーパープロデューサーチーム、The Neptunesの片割れPharrell Williamsの初のソロアルバム、「In My Mind」。延期が繰り返されていたこのアルバムはこれまでのNeptunesサウンドの集大成とも言える内容。前半がHIP HOP、後半がR&Bと分かれているのも画期的です。

HIP HOPサイドからの先行シングルは、重低音のビートに空洞感のあるサウンドが心地良い、ダークな仕上がりの「Can I Have It Like That」。さりげなくフィーチャーしたGwen Stefaniとの掛け合いや、目まぐるしい変化を見せるビート展開は病み付きになること必至です。一方R&Bサイドの先行シングル「Angel」は、多くのNeptunesサウンドがもつ怪しさや毒を感じさせない、最高にキュートで軽快なノリのビートにPharrellの自慢のファルセットヴォイスが効いたR&Bソング。3曲目の先行カットは、Kanye Westとの共演作「Number One」。ピコピコ音をベースに宇宙的な響きをもったシンセサイザーが広がる、電子的でありながら奥行きのある銀河系ソングです。

また、Jay-Zをフィーチャーした「Young Girl」はダンサブルで緊張感のあるサウンドで、フロア受けしそうなダンストラック。Nellyとの「Baby」は、リズミカルでポップな曲調に、N.E.R.Dの曲に使われるような不気味なギターが絡んだ斬新な曲。うねるような歌い回しも特徴的です。

他にも、アッパーな「How Does It Feel?」、メロウな「Take It Off」と、どれも個性のある強力トラックばかりで飽きがこない。その上、Pharrellとの交友の深い豪華ゲストが参加しているこのアルバム。文句なしの内容です。

ファレルは、ブリトニー、インシンク、ミスティカル、Jay-Z、Nelly、Snoop Doggらの
大ヒット曲をプロデュースしていたスーパープロデューサーチーム、ネプチューンズの片割れである。
彼らの手がける音は、和太鼓のような音もあるユニークで強力なビートと、
不思議な音、意表をつくコード展開、そして不協和音寸前の和音の組み方に特徴がある。
本アルバムでは、そういった特徴はそのままに、さらにファレルの特徴を強めた作品になっている。
つまり彼のファルセットボイス（逆にけっこう本格的なヴォーカルもあるし）、そしてよりさわやかな和音（伴奏）が、今まで以上に強調されている。
１番はNo DoubtのGwenをフィーチャーしたヒップホップ系な曲。２番は映画『ドラムライン』のような細かいビートを入れたラップだ。
３番は、不協和音寸前のねじれた音の組み合わせがクセになりそうなラップ。伴奏とベースのアンバランス具合がいい。
４番や７番、８番などはこれまでのネプチューンズ調、Frontin'の流れをくんでいる。
１０番はセクシーなＲ＆Ｂになっているし、１３番もとても爽やかな曲調にボンゴのようなリズムを合わせたきれいな曲。
５番ではなんとジェイミー・カラムが参加し、そのせいか、ジャズっぽいクールな雰囲気。新鮮なサウンドといえる。
ジェイ・Ｚ参加の９番は８０ｓポップスのようにノリがよくて聴きやすく、
カニエ・ウェスト参加の１４番はマイケル･ジャクソンみたいでとてもカッコよくキャッチー！！
参加アーティストは他にスヌープ、ネリー、スリム・サグにプッシャＴ。
ドラマーでもあるファレルの紡ぎ出す面白いリズムと、時にジャズっぽくもなるきれいな和音が堪能できる一枚。
ネプチューンズのプロデュースした曲が好きだった人には絶対におすすめなアルバム。
ファレルの特徴あるヴォーカル＆サウンドに、くせになるＣＤで、捨て曲もまずない。
