akikoの新作は小西康陽プロデュースでテーマはジャンプ・ミュージック。1940年代のビ・バップ・ジャズと対になり、互いに重なりながら同時に進行したこの大衆音楽は、R&Bやロックにつながり、当時の音楽エネルギーを象徴するもので、いかにもakikoにぴったりだ。小西のサウンドは、当然現代的に洗練されたもので、その分ジャンプというよりジャズに近いが、それでもこの音楽本来の猥雑さのようなものもしっかり再構築しているのはサスガ。エネルギッシュで、どこかコケティッシュなakikoの魅力いっぱいだ。 (青木和富) --- 2005年12月号

この種の音楽って、すっごい前にジョー・ジャクソンのジャンピン・ジャイブっていうカバー・アルバムを聞いただけで（そういえば、オリジナル・ラブにもそういうタイトルの曲があったっけ）、全く不案内だったし、小西さんのＤＪとかで古いけどいい感じって思ってたぐらいだったけど、買ってみてすごく良かったです。まず、音楽が小西さんの本領発揮で楽しい！の極み。ちゃんとジャズしてるのに、アレンジに色々遊び心がこめられてて、しかも現代の録音ながら古い時代の録音の香りを出そうとしてて、でも、ノリノリでドライブやパーティーに最適。体が自然と動き始める最高の楽しさ。akikoさんのボーカルも普段より楽しそうにスウィングしていて、絶妙なバランス！ジャケットも遊び心満載でかなり豪華な感じで、買って良かったなーって思いました。もうちょっと曲数増やして、フルアルバムにして欲しかったな。今年一番の買い物。

店頭でジャケットを見て衝動買いしましたが、あたり！でした。
おうちカフェを気取って、リビングでお茶をのみながら、
本を読んだり、ネットを楽しんだりしてます。
小西さんのカラミでちょっと興味があったのですが
akikoさんにもかなり興味がわきました。
いい声です〜。
ジャズって気楽にたのしめるよ！と、
初心者の私でもとてもなじみやすい楽曲ばかりです。

　"ONEーTWO、ONEーTWO、TEST、TEST"と、飛び切りスウィングなリズムで始まるakiko＆小西康陽のコラボレーション作は、聴く者すべてを幸福な気分にさせるジャジィでグルービィなアルバムだ。akikoの持つクールでハスキィな中にも透明感がある歌声に、小西のいつもながらのセンスの良さ（フレンチ・ジャズを思わせる紙ジャケットのポップさを見よ！）が噛み合っての今作は、片肘張らずに、ジャズを聴く喜びを教えてくれる。日曜の午後、ティを飲みつつ、リラックスして楽しめる逸品だ。
