本作でニール・ヤングは淡々として、それこそ大平原に吹く風を思わせるような、カントリー・フレーバーたっぷりの曲を披露してくれており、聴く者をゆったりとした気分にしてくれます。ずばり傑作といっていいでしょう。さて、本作にはＤＶＤが添付されていますが、内容が豊富です。エミルー・ハリスやベン・キース等のバック・ミュージシャンもしっかり捉え、コマ割りを工夫したレコーディング・セッションの動画がまず入っています。何の気負いもないシンプルなレコーディング風景は曲に実にフィットしていていい感じを出しています。その他に、動画は風にそよぐ草原だけですが、96KHz/24bitの高解像度の音で全曲を聴くこともできます。このモードで動画をバックグラウンドとして音楽を楽しむと、自分がプレーリーの風に吹かれているような感じがして、心の底からリラックスできます。最後に、ニール・ヤング自身のトークを聞くこともできます。本作は、ＣＤ添付のＤＶＤのあり方の一つを提示するものとして、大いに評価したいと思います。

まずは１曲目を聴くべし。ニールヤングならではの暖かさに包まれた世界にどっぷり浸れます。ベンキースをはじめ、つぼを押さえた熟練たちの技。もう一つの聴き所はエミルーハリスとのデュエット。全く同じ音源でDVDとのセットは割高感を否めないが、彼女のレコーディング風景を拝めるだけで満足。マーチンDー28の響きも最高です。
