これまでの三國無双シリーズとは微妙に異なり、仲間との共闘が楽しめます。爽快感を求めるなら易しいですが、難しいだとなかなか一人ではうまく行きません。毎回変わる戦況、仲間、敵との台詞の応酬、
これまでの脇役武将の活躍、爆笑必死のギャラリーなど、
３にはまったら是非触れてみるべきでしょう。

「政策」により様々なアイテム（産物）や工作が使用可能、各将の技能などやりこみ要素が満載だった。残念なのは、グラフィックがエディット武将のものでない武将の「準将軍降格」がなかったことであろうか。
このゲームには戦闘時に「将軍」と登用していれば「準将軍」を出陣させる。その際「将軍入替」というコマンドで準将軍を将軍にする事は出来ても特定の将軍は準将軍に降格できないのだ。お気に入りの将軍を揃えたいプレイヤーもいるはずなので、まことに残念である。

個人的には、猛将伝より楽しく遊べる。
とにもかくにも操作性の向上。
ロックオンがないというのはいかに爽快なのかが顕著に出ていて、感服です。

おまけ要素がかなりのデータをしめていそうなんだけれども、争覇モードは普通に面白いと思う。
無双＝戦闘のことだけ考えていればOK!
という概念を打ち破り、
何より、無双の醍醐味である歴史のIFを実現できる。
好きな国を自分の好きな武将で！
ある意味すごい欲張りなゲームです。
