初めに聴いたときの感想は・・大人しいイメージでした。
1曲目以外は静かな曲が多く、映画で狼？に終われるシーンのような緊迫した曲も未収録だったためか。
しかし2回目以降は確実にNarniaの世界に引き込まれました。
2曲目のEvacuating Londonからメインテーマが徐々に現れだします。
非常に温かい曲が多く、印象的です。
そして何と言ってもこのサントラのハイライトとなる12曲目のThe Battle。
コーラスとシンフォニーの融合が素晴らしいです！美しいとしか言葉が見つかりません！
今までBattle時に流れる曲は緊迫した曲やかっこいい曲しか聴いたことがなかったため、このアイデアにとても感動したのを覚えています。
オーケストラをお腹いっぱいに聴いた後に歌も4曲収録されているのでバランスもいいんではないかと。

全体通して素晴らしい出来で、2005年に発売されたサントラの中でもトップに近いと思います。
Narniaの作曲家Harry Gregson-Williamsから同年に発売された「Kingdom of Heaven」も見事です。
彼は本当に魅力的なComposerになりました。どの映画のジャンルにも対応できる素質を備えています。
まだまだ若いのでこれからも名曲をいくつも作ってくれるはずです！

Narnia第2章のPrince Caspianは戦闘が多くなりそうなので、HGWによると今作品に比べたらダークになるとのこと。期待しましょう！！

映画を見てから、ふとレコード店で見つけたので手に取りました。

映画本編の感想としては、戦闘シーンや敵役のＣＧなどがどうしてもロード・オブ・ザ・リングの二番煎じに思えてしまい、ストーリーに意外性がないことも手伝ってかイマイチぱっとしませんでした。
それでも原作が好きだった人にとって映像化は嬉しいですし、サウンドトラックもそのイメージにきちんと合ったものに仕上がっていると思います。

全体的に音は綺麗に仕上がっていて、そこまで耳に残るような名曲があるわけではないものの、聞いているうちに「いいな」と思えてきます。
優しい、綺麗な雰囲気でナルニアの世界にひたりたい方は、是非。
