ふだんは若いながらハードで赤裸々な心象風景を歌いテーマを投げ掛ける彼らだが、本作は牧歌的な雰囲気が漂う勇気のわくような曲だ。この夏に東名阪で収録したという300人のコーラス、そしてヴァイオリン・ソロを含むことで曲が豊かな広がりをもち、心地良い、それでいて前向きになれる情緒をうまく作り上げている。とにかく作品を発表するたびに成長と幅を広げるこの兄弟には感服だ。カップリングの山崎まさよしの「中華料理」といったチョイスもなかなか渋く、彼らなりのシンプルさを追求したアレンジがまた良かったりする。 (石塚 隆) --- 2005年12月号

メインの曲はアルバムからのシングルカットになりますので、すでにご存じの方も多いかもしれません。
この曲は成長めざましい弟くんの直次郎が作詞作曲、ＮＨＫみんなのうた10,11月に放送されている曲です。
なぜかＣＤまでみんなのうたと同じ１番のみ・・・２番の歌詞が良いだけに残念。中高生のコーラスが爽やかです。

カップリングのカバー曲「中華料理」は１４歳の彼が歌ったとは思えない！色っぽく男のかっこよさがにじみ出ています。
アレンジもオリジナルより面白い出来です。
おまけの映像も平川地一丁目ファンなら必見！おすすめです。

~アルバムとはアレンジが違うのかもしれませんが、「夢見るジャンプ」は直次郎君の創った曲としては最高傑作だと、個人的には思います。
ジャンプ出来る年齢に、戻りたい（苦笑）ぐらいですが、この曲からは、例えば４０才を超えた僕でも「ジャンプ」が可能な事を教えてくれる、そのぐらい素晴らしい楽曲だと思います。
龍之介兄さんの影で、ボーカル主体で~~やってきた直次郎君ですが、多感なこの時代に、「釣り」や「農作」が好きだなんて、素晴らしい事ですよね。東京生まれ、東京育ちで、早くからずる賢さを会得した僕からすれば、遊びたいだろうに、本当に「真っ直ぐ」育っているなあと感じて、彼らに尊敬の念すら感じる次第です。これから、必ず「アコースティック・ポップ」と呼ばれる、新たな時代が訪れると~~思っています。是非、彼らの唄に耳を傾けてくださいね。これが分からない野郎・女どもは、はっきり言って、「馬鹿野郎」ですねえ。
全面的に、僕は平川地一丁目を応援し続けます。~

騙された。雑誌『みんなのうた』には、TV放送では原曲を一部割愛、と書いてあったので、フルコーラスが入っていることを期待してCDを買ったのだが、ふたをあけてびっくり、TVそのまんまの短縮サイズで入っているではないか。

処分しようかどうか迷っている。曲自体は非常にいい出来なだけに残念だ。
