確かに白でバッチリ決めたジョージの勇姿はカッコイイ。
だが、この作品のジャケは絶対に子供の写真でなくては
ならないのである！ジョージも天国で嘆いているだろう。
主役はジョージでは無く慈善に賛同した出演者全員だ。
だから自分は旧盤しか持っていない。旧盤のスバラシイ
音質に何の不満も無いからである。コンサートの内容に
ついては今さら誰も文句のつけようの無い伝説である。

リマスターと銘打ってある本作，実はリミックスで，旧ＬＰ・ＣＤはもちろん同時に出たＤＶＤの音声（これもリミックスだが）のいずれとも異なるミックスになっています。

　ジョージ・ハリスンの呼びかけに応じたロック・ミュージシャンによるバングラデッシュ難民救済を目的としたチャリティ・コンサートの夜の部を収めたライブ盤です。会場は1971年8月1日のマディソン・スクエア・ガーデン。チャリティ・コンサートとして先駆的であるほか、ジョージ・ハリスンのキャリアの一つの最高の瞬間を捉えたものでもある、・・・なんてことは常識ですね。
　仕様は「オール・シングス・マスト・パス（ニュー・センチュリー・エディション）」のようなやや大きめの箱の中にビニールに入ったCD2枚とブックレットを2冊収めたものです。今回の目玉はリマスターされた事と、昼の部のみで演奏されたディランの「ラブ・マイナス・ゼロ」をボーナスとして収録している事です。ビートルズ・シネ・クラブの解説はいつも丁寧で好感が持てると思っていますが、今回は常識レベルの事しか書いておらず期待外れでした。この解説があるかどうかだけが輸入盤との違いのようですので、敢えて日本盤を選ぶ必要は全くないと思います。
　アナログ時代は3枚組み6面を順番に聴くのは大変でしたが、あの苦労は何だったんでしょうね・・・。あと、どうせなら最近のT-REXのコンサートみたいに昼の部を全部まとめて付けるぐらいのボーナスが欲しかったかなぁ。
