気鋭のクリエーターがUA音楽を彩ってきた側面を見せる今作は、UAの独自性が彼らの力を得ることで一層爆発的に拡大するそのスピードを感じさせます。10組それぞれ景色の違う宇宙とUAという惑星の引力が混ざると、こんなに無類の姿をしたうたたちが誕生するのかという面白味が聴き所でした。同時にそれはUAという海の受容力の広さ・柔軟さをも感じさせますね。

冒頭はいきなり天才、半野喜弘。今作の前衛的な世界観の顔と言える名前です。その独創的なサウンドを代表するグリッチノイズはさりげなく配されます。それはアンビエントな要素として聞こえ、更にアコースティックな音色とよく絡むので、非常に緻密に作られたチルナンバーです。旋律やリズムはとても複雑ですがUAの声はそれを自由に泳ぎきり、半野氏の抽象絵画の衝撃的な曲線と色彩を映し出していました。
続くテイ・トウワの2は更に衝撃的。単純な名詞を漂わせる構成の美しさと、特に強烈な転調です。微睡みの中で聞くと、恐いほど増幅してきます。

藤原ヒロシ自ら手がける名曲3や4ではどちらも安らぎの揺り篭のようなUA。一方5の変り様は驚きますが、さすがリトル・クリーチャーズ、くすんだ趣き深い質感が知的。展開も最後まで飽きさせません。10も素材の活かし方だけで奥行きを感じさせる彼らの凄いところ。
6は大沢伸一のクラブ音楽からの加速感が如実に表れ、流麗なストリングスラインと共に映像的です。7は霧に包まれたような浮遊感が特徴的。

冒頭のフリー度の高さに驚くのは菊地成孔による8。独特のカオスがしかし緻密に調和してゆく全体の動きやグルーヴ、更にUAの歌声が少しも負けていない求心性など面白いです。
9はリコーダーという素材の再発見。8の後だけに音色のシンプルさが作り直す歌の素朴さに趣を覚えます。
11もまた前衛的ですね。ひたすら葉と葉がこすれるような風の中で揺れるポストロック。
12はもっともサビらしいサビがきける曲。でも今作の中でも力負けしないサウンドデザインとなっています。

「この坂道の途中で」が聴きたくて購入。と言っても映画「空中庭園」を見たわけではなく、昔から好きなdipのヤマジカズヒデ氏の作曲、ギターと、好きなアーティストであるUAの作詞、歌で作られたこの曲に興味があったからです。
いいです、このアルバム。他にもいいなと思う曲が多く、買って損はないアルバム。

いろんな曲がぎゅっと詰まっているアルバム。様々なタイプの曲が入っているけど、どれをとってもＵＡの世界が満開で、すごく心地よい。
これは絶対お薦めです。
