大熊監督の当時の考えなどがよく分かります。他にも、ミーティングの様子や、試合の合間の選手たちの様子も写されていて、なかなか見ていて面白みがあります！！最初のメニュー画面だけでも、笑えるぐらいです(笑)
大熊監督のインタビューだけでなく、選手たちのインタビューもあれば、もっと内容が濃くなって、WYの当時のことがもっと分かったかもしれないなぁっと思うと、少し物足りないかもしれません(＾＾；)
でも、全体的には満足でした！

前年アテネ五輪にも出場した平山を中心とした粒揃いの世代という前評判があり、期待を集めていましたが、結果は一勝で出来ず平凡なベスト16。
そして内容は平山にボールを集めるだけで中盤のパス回しを放棄したような日本らしくないサッカーでクライフらから反感を買ってました。

ただ選手個々の質自体はそんな悪くなかったと思います。
今大会後オランダへ移籍し、その非凡さを証明した平山、そして今大会でFKやドリブル突破など一番世界に通用していた水野は千葉でナビスコ連覇、大会MVPに輝き、セルティックに移籍も果たしました。
それ以外にも決定機を外しながら献身的な動きでチームに貢献したカレンはその後磐田で13得点を取り新人王を獲得、何故かSBで起用されながら世界相手に対人能力の強さを見せた水本、左サイドで果敢なドリブル突破からチャンスメイクをしていた家長、この世代屈指の司令塔としてゲームメイクを担った梶山、再三の危機をファインセーブで救った西川など粒揃いでしたが残念なのはそれらを全く生かせなかった監督の無能さですね…

その他にも初戦で見切られ出番のなかったVVVの本田圭や大会には選ばれなかったですが谷口や青山、李、菅沼、枝村などもいるこの世代はその後指揮官が反町になるなど、ホントに指揮官に恵まれていないなって印象がありますね(∋_∈)
