表題曲のバラード「プレゼント」と、
ロッカバラード「おいでよ　僕の国へ」（これまたかわった題名）の2曲と
そのInstrumental版を含む4曲入りシングル。

表題曲はテレビドラマの主題歌として既にオンエアされていたが、美しい
メロディと、声をはりあげすぎず、しかし抑えすぎない、丁度いい案配の
抑制が聴いていて気持ちいい。しつこく盛り上げるのではなく、盛りあがっ
たところでスッと終わる構成も、リピート聴きを誘う。

「おいでよ　僕の国へ」は、前作のシングル「いつもどこかで」にあった
”バンドっぽさ”を引き続き感じさせる作り。「いつもどこかで」「プレゼント」
が収録されるであろう次のアルバムの方向性がいろいろ想像できる曲。

2曲とも歌詞は玉置っぽい素朴さを前面に出した内容だが、しかし、どちら
も作詞は玉置ではなく松井五郎というのがちょっとおかしい。アルバム「今
日というこの日を~」でも見られた「松井五郎が松井五郎的なことをやるの
ではなく、玉置浩二的なものを玉置本人より上手にやってみせている」感じ
の作風が面白い。

自身出演ドラマ｢あいのうた｣の主題歌となってます。
玉置さん得意のバラードであるが、いつになくハートフルな仕上がりになっており、リスナーの心に染み入る名曲の予感。
再び松井五郎との黄金タッグとなります。

・・・良い曲だ。
始まりの優しい声でまずこの曲に惹きこまれる。
歌詞は至ってシンプル。だけど、それが良い。
この曲を聴いていると、なんていうか、包まれる。
優しい歌だ。そして、あったかい。。。
ドラマの主題歌なんだから、あたりまえなんだけど、ドラマにすごく合ってる。僕はドラマも見てるが、ドラマを知らずにこの曲だけを聴いてたら、良い曲だとは思っただろうけど、今ほどの感銘は受けてないだろう。ドラマも良い。玉置さん演じる役どころに通じる物がこの曲にはある。
玉置さんの楽曲ではお馴染みだが、サビ部分の盛り上がりどころは素晴らしい。あったかい曲だという認識なので、泣ける曲では個人的にはないのだけれど、サビ部分は・・・込み上げてくるものがある。まるで、ドラマの最後で玉置さんが言いそうな・・・それをつい想像してしまう。
玉置浩二「プレゼント」。ドラマ限定で言うなら、タイトルは「あいのうた」。しばらく、２通り楽しめそうだ。
