1983年4月~1984年2月までに放映されたTVアニメ「装甲騎兵 ボトムズ」の機体が、掌サイズの「究極可動フィギュア」で登場。Active(可動)とArtistic(芸術)の造語として名づけられたアクティックギア。その名前には「可動と芸術的なギミックの融合」の意味がこめられた、まさにコレクションにも最適、ツール感覚でも楽しめる究極のシリーズ。
本商品は、キリコたちの乗った謎の宇宙船に搭載されていた機体。基本的な仕様は通常のスコープドッグと同一のものだが、無重力状態での運用に適した機構、特に艦周辺での戦闘に有効な磁力による吸着機構の追加などが推測され、細部の仕様が異なる可能性がある。また宇宙空間で高い機動力を有するラウンドムーバーの装備もあり、宇宙航空用戦艦の直線援任務に非常に適した機体となっている。

今回初めてこのアクティックギアシリーズを購入しました。
このスケールでコックピットやターンピックまで再現されていて、稼動範囲も申し分なく、遊べるアイテムだと思います。ラウンドムーバが変形して降着ポーズを取れるようになるところなど、細部にも隙がありません。
しかしながら、飾っておくときの質感がいただけません。よく言われている、二の腕の肉抜き穴や、背中の金属ねじのことではありません。造形が格好悪いわけでもありません。ケースに入れて鑑賞すると、どうしても安っぽいプラスチック丸出しに見えてしまうのです。原因は二点あります。
１、塗装がなされていない上にモールドが甘すぎること。
２、デカールなどの細部が省かれていてメリハリに欠けること。
筋彫りや塗装・デカール貼りを厭わなければ、自分オリジナルのすばらしい機体にできるのでしょうが・・・
そして、どうしても同じ商品コンセプトを持つバンダイのハイコンプロと比較してしまうのですが、質感だけで言えば、全然勝負になっていないといえるでしょう。ハイコンプロも変なパネル塗装が批判されたりもしていますが、それでも、そのスケールからは信じられないほど細部まで塗装がなされており、表面の質感にプラスチックの安っぽさが見受けられません。
もう少し飾ったときに見栄えがする表面加工をしてほしいと思いました。

ＡＴ本体は「AG−V01 スコープドッグ」と同じですが、成型色と付属装備に違いがあります。

本体は通称「スコープドッグ２」と呼ばれる全身が濃いグリーン一色のもので「ラウンドムーバー」もこの機体専用の成型色です。
付属武器も「ソリッドシューター」とショートバレルの「ヘヴィマシンガン改」になっています。
ヘヴィマシンガン改を装備させてラウンドムーバーを外せばストライクドッグと戦った機体をも再現できます。
この商品の目玉（？）ともいえる「ラウンドムーバー」は降着姿勢にしても干渉しないように変形させる事が可能です。

このスコープドッグ本体はターレットレンズ以外は塗装を施されていないため、そのままだといかにも安っぽいプラスティックの人形という感じです。
完成度にこだわる方は自分で塗装するなりしてみると良いかも知れませんね。

あと、ソリッドシューターも成型色じゃないのでバリ後を塗るのが面倒。ランドムーバーの組立てが面倒、バーニアのバリ取りが面倒＆取れ易い。
ショートが付いてますが１色＆前取っ手不可動。
初期モデルの欠点が生き残ってます。
