シェークスピアの悲劇を現代版(といっても1930年代ですが)にした映画、ということで特に期待してた訳ではなかったのに、思わぬヒット！
目を奪われるのは、リチャード役のイアン・マッケラン(Xメンでマグニートだった人)。もう素晴らしいその演技！その年の英アカデミー賞にノミネートされたっていうことだけど、そらそうだろって感じ。
それから、映像。一点もぬかりなく絢爛としていて、それでいてさらっとしている感じ。ロケ地はどこもまあなんと豪華で美しいところか！コスチュームの完璧さも、いちいちすてき。音楽も控えめなところが得点高い。最初のパーティで演奏された30年代のスタンダードジャズの歌詞はシェークスピアと同年代のマーローのソネットなんですと。
そして、全体を威厳に満ちたものにしている、シェークスピアの英語ね。近代に持って来ては、変でしょその言い草、という箇所も、設定や演技がいいので、全然違和感がなく、ビシッと極めてるところが本当にすごいなと思って。面白かったなぁ！

DVDの存在を知った瞬間に速攻で購入しました(笑)。
戦前戦中のイギリスに舞台を移しての「リチャード三世」の映画化です。

もう冒頭のリチャードの登場から笑撃です。
戦車、映画、ナチなんでもありの世界(当然リチャードは某独裁者ｗ)。
原作を知っている人、WW2に造詣の深い方は十分に笑い楽しめます。
台詞の重厚さと場面のアレンジのタイミングは絶妙で
制作側は大真面目に作られたんでしょうが、
絶妙なコメディタッチになっています。
しかしリチャードの不具者の哀しみトラウマもしっかり描いています。
イアン・マッケラン氏が複雑怪奇でコミカルなリチャードを熱演しています。
これは見て絶対損はありません！！
