これは完璧にメタルコアですね。ただし、アメリカの同型列のバンドに比べアイアン・メイデンからの影響がかなり強いです。デスとハーモニーのツインVOとギターソロ合戦、ザクザクとしたリフの融合もなかなかレベルが高く、好印象を与えます。イエテボリスタイルの影響は他のメタルコアバンドに比べやはり低いですが、これはこれでUKからの返答として良いと思います。

　良い。メタルがポップになって聴きやすくなった、と言ったらいいだろうか。ツーバスがドカドカ鳴りベースも咆える。激しく、攻撃力がある。しかしそれだけに尽きず、ギターの悲しい美旋律も用意されている。だいたいどの曲もメロディックなので、メタルというものに抵抗や偏見をもっている人には、それらをなくす意味でも是非聴いてもらいたい。……個人的に、ちょっとポップすぎる気がしなくもないんだが。まぁでも評価５に値する内容。
　ちなみに、日本版も直輸入版も曲数は同じでどちらもPVが収録されているので、なんというか・・・・・・別にライナーノーツいらない人は輸入版のほうがお得だと思う。

ウェールズから超期待の新人が現れました。
Bullet For My ValentineのEPがUK各誌から絶賛され、イギリスの世界的に有名なダウンロードフェスで圧倒的な存在感をアピールしました。日本ではサマーソニックに出演のはずでしたがドラムのムースが極度の体調不良のため東京公演をキャンセル。公演は大阪のみだったので見逃してしまった方が多いと思います。
さて、今回待ちに待ったフルアルバムがドロップされ即買ってきました。
日本版EP、Bullet For My Valentineに収録されているHand of Bloodが収録されてなかったのが残念でしたが（輸入版には収録されています）1曲目の荘厳なイントロから2曲目のHer Voice Resideの展開に仰天、先行シングルSuffocating Under Words of Sorrow~Hit the Floorの流れは最高です。
このバンドはメタルというと語弊があるかもしれません。途中メロディックになったりとハードコア、スクリーモの要素もあるかもしれません。あとなぜかLostprophetsと比べられがちですが、彼らと比べるとBFMVの方がかなり激しいですね。
エンハンストはSuffocating Under Words of SorrowのPV（なぜか2メロから開始されます。あとサイズがちょっと小さい）、ダウンロードフェスのライブ映像（Room 409、Spit You Out）、バックステージ（サイン会の様子。あんま面白くない）が収録されています。
BFMVは1月に来日することが決定しているので半年越しのライブも楽しみです＾＾。
