休止明け後の３枚のうち、一番パンクで、でも音はやさしくて、そして歌詞は哀しい。
飲んだくれて突っ伏して泥まみれになって、ごろごろ転がっていただけだったのが、
薄く開けた目に遠く青空が映ったかのような。
「クタビレきった」「しんどそう」「ぐったり」と、疲労がヤニのように染み付いているのに、
悲壮感よりは共感を感じるのは、
はるさんの抜けの良いやさぐれ声のせいか、私の年のせいか。

復活後、３作目。ライブで７「クリスマス」を聴いた時には、正直泣きそうになりました。
アメリカでは戦争が起きるたびに「イマジン」が歌われますが、日本ではこの曲を歌いましょう。はるの持っている絶望感はこのアルバムでは優しさや風情に繋がっています。４０前の男の心構えーいつ死んでも怖くない地点を目指し、１２の「サマー記念日」では、仮の悟りが開けます。生きるのにくたびれきっても、生きていく現実。でも死んでしまったら関係なし。
私も今年３９になりますが、今死んだら、「サマー記念日」流してほしいですね。でも、ピーズが新作出すまで、まだまだ死ねません。アルバム出すたび、泣かされたり、興奮したり・・・。本当にいいバンドです。毎日の活力剤(若干中毒性あり)です。
