93年に初めてこのCDを手にした時は、正直ちょっと落胆した。自分はTwo Tribes の”(for the victims of ravishment)"というバージョンが聴きたくてこのCD を買ったのだが、それは入ってなくて、代わりに"(cowboys and indians)"というバージョンが入っていたから。その後色々調べた結果、前者はアルバム『プレジャードーム』に収録されたオリジナル・アルバム・バージョンで、後者は７インチシングルに収録されたオリジナル・シングル・バージョンだということが分かった。しかし、以前は『プレジャードーム』はCDとアナログレコードとで収録曲やバージョンが違っており、CDに収録されていたのは"(Annihilation)"というほぼ歌無しで延々ナレーションが続くバージョンだった。で、ラジオとかでよくかかっていた”(for the victims of ravishment)"がシングルバージョンだと思い込んでいたのである（幸い、『プレジャードーム』の現行盤のCDには"(Annihilation)"ではなく”(for the victims of ravishment)"が収録されている）。ちなみに、アメリカ盤７インチシングルには"(cowboys and indians)"ではなく”(for the victims of ravishment)"が収録されていた、と。ああややこしい。

Relaxはオリジナル・シングル・バージョンである"(move)"でもアルバム・バージョンである"(come fighting)"でもなく、"(1993 classic mix)"を収録。Watching the wildlifeも"(1993 classic mix)"での収録。Welcome to the pleasuredomeはシングル・バージョンではなくアルバム・バージョンでの収録（正確にはリマスター？を施した"CD version" と呼ばれる音源）。Warriors of the wastelandは７インチ用にリミックスされたバージョン。つまりプロモクリップと同じバージョンだが、実際にはこれは７インチシングルのB面に収録されたみたいで（A面に収録されたのはアルバム『リヴァプール』と同じバージョン）。

選曲的には2000年に出た『Maximum Joy』というベスト盤の方がオススメ。そっちは基本的にどの曲もオリジナル・アルバムと同じバージョンで収録されていて、Two Tribes, Watching the wildlife, Warriors of the wastelandについてはそっちの方が個人的に好き。ただしRelaxに関しては"(1993 classic mix)"の方が"(come fighting)"よりも低音が効いていてカッコいい。しかし最もダイレクトな訴求力があるのはやはり"(move)"だと思う。ちなみにプロモクリップに使われてるのは基本的に"(move)"で（live版とremix版を除く）、始まって15秒位のところで爆弾が落ちたかのようなエコーのかかったバスドラが被るのが特徴。あと全体的にボーカルが前に出て来る印象。

自分にこういう様々なmixやバージョン違いを聴き較べるという音楽の楽しみ方のとっかかりを教えてくれたのがこのFGTHだった訳で。解散して20年以上が経つけど、自分の中では全然終わっていないバンドです。「Watching the wildlifeの"(movement 2)"はいつになったらCD化されるんだ」とか。付いてこれてます？

最近ＣＭや某ＴＶ番組等で耳にすることが多くなった「Ｒｅｌａｘ」を収録している。
シングルとは若干アレンジが違うが、恐らくＣＭ等で使われているのはこちらの方だろう。
Ｒｅｌａｘ以外にもどこかで聞いたことのある曲が入っていたりして、今聞いても新鮮だし、しかもどこか懐かしい感じのするサウンド。
これを聞けば家事がはかどる！？

当時　80年代　ディスコでリラックスを聴いた時の　衝撃は今でも覚えている。　会場が揺れる様ぐらい　ダンス　フロア-は　狂喜乱舞していた。
本作のプロデュ-スは　tatuで　有名な　トレハ゛-ホ-ンである。
79年　トレバ-ホ-ンは　バグルスの一員で　邦題　ラジオ　スタ-の悲劇　という題名で　世界的ヒットさせて　有名になった人です。

国内盤は廃盤になっているので、　この作品をお薦めします。
