年齢も生活環境も違う二人が惹かれ合っていき、衝突しながら前向きに生きていこうとするお話です。私は、ジェームス スペイダーが好きで見ましたがスーザン サランドンの情熱的な演技を見ているうちにスーザンのことも好きになってしまいました。大きな出会いがあれば人生はやり直しができるということを教えてくれます。

　素敵な映画である。身分の違い、年齢の違いを乗り越えた恋という古典的な恋愛映画の題材を扱いながら、決してロマンティックな夢物語に止めない、シビアで、生活色があって、そして、何より“繊細”で“誠実”な味わいのある大人の為の恋愛映画の秀作だと思う。もちろん、ファニーでエロチックな部分も持ち併せている。テッド・タリー（「羊たちの沈黙」！）＆アルヴィン・サージェント（「ジュリア」！）による脚本が素晴らしい。全てがかけ離れた２人が、場末の大衆酒場で偶然にも出くわし、お互い、かけがえのない“存在”を失って、喪失感と孤独に苛まれている境遇を認識しあう（しかも、この上なく、シリアスな告白にも拘らず、２人は吹き出してしまうのだ！）シーンは、以後、２人が惹かれあっていくことが必然性を感じさせる見事さだ。パーティの席での、マックスの友人たちに見せる態度と発言を見る様に、ノーラが終始、自らの境遇を卑下することなく、毅然としているのが、作品に、強靭な“力”を与えている。マックスがヴァイブレーターの匂いを嗅いだり、ノーラのオルガニズムやＳＥＸ時のしぐさ等もどぎつくなくユーモラスだ。Ｊ・スペイダーも頑張っているが、何と言っても、Ｓ・サランドンが絶品。今作公開時、実生活でも年の差を越えてＴ・ロビンスと同棲していた彼女は、この映画を契機に、９０年代、ハリウッドのトップ女優となった。

大好きな映画です。ただ、新しくなったこのジャケットの写真がちょっと。。。内容はこんなんではないので、是非観てみてください。ジェームス・スペイダーの映画の中では、この映画が一番好きです。恋に歳の差は関係ないのですね。
