なんといってもこの歌声に尽きると思う。ヒットナンバー「you are beautiful」をはじめとする曲のメロディラインはもちろん良いのだが、この声で歌われるとどんな曲でも立派な名曲になりそうである。一言で表現してしまえば「かすれ声」なのだが、だからこそこの声には真実味があり、綺麗な通った声で「you are beautiful」と歌われるより想いが熱く伝わってくる。曲が聴きたいとゆうより声が聴きたくなる、久しぶりにそんなシンガーに出会いました。個人としては次回は名曲バラードカヴァー集とか出して欲しいなー。

　とにかくすばらしいアルバム。

　紀元前から続くイギリス戦士の家系で生まれ育ち、大学で航空宇宙工学を学び、英軍でコソボへ行き、近衛騎兵隊としてバッキンガム宮殿を護衛し、アルバム作りのために渡米するという、一見中途半端な経歴を持っているが、彼は経験から得たことをうまく曲の中で表現しており、戦争のむなしさを歌ったり愛しい人を失った寂しさを表現したり、など内容は様々だが、どれも曲と歌詞が絡み合いながら心の中に染み込んでくる。

　全体的にバラード調で耳に残る心地よい曲ばかり。スローな曲調に加え、英文もわかりやすいので曲を聴くだけでも意味を理解できる。

　全米では流行らなかったが、全英では“You're Beautiful."の曲と共に１位にノミネートし続けたアルバム。しかも強豪が脱落していく中、未だに上位にランクインしている。
　
　一聞の価値あり。

James Blunt と言う名前を初めて知ったのはネットでの配信記事でした。
イギリスのラジオでJames BluntのYou are beautifulという曲が掛かりすぎて、リスナーからの苦情でストップをする騒動になったというものでした。

最近のＵＫはチェックしていなかったので、レコード会社のプロモーション活動はあるにしろ、それほど掛かりまくっている曲はどんな曲なのだろうと思い購入しました。

正直You are beautiful以外の曲は期待していなかったのですが、他の曲もなかなか良かったです。
ミニコンポではなく、ピュアオーディオで聴いているのですが、音も良く、アルバムを全曲流していても気持ちよく聴いていられます。

Goodbye my lover, Cry等もしんみりとした良い曲です。

Oasis等も含め、過去それほどＵＫミュージックに興味の無かった私ですが、このアルバムは別です。
お勧めのアルバムです。
