プレリーウィンドとは?---彼の生まれた故郷であるカナダの大草原に吹く風のイメージ。ニールユングもまた、60年代中ばから現在まで常に、我が道を貫いてきた。気骨溢れる、しかし何時も永遠の青春を抱えた愛すべきロッカ-である。このアルバムを録音する直前、ニ-ルは脳梗塞の手術を受け、更には父を亡くしたという。ここにはそんな彼の生まれた故郷への、亡き父への、そして自身の人生への様々な想いが込められています。中にはエルヴィスに捧げた歌も収録されています。彼の声は何時もピュアであり、声も澄みわたっています。

どう聞いてもHarvestとは縁もゆかりもなさそうなアルバムなのだが、
なんでそういう宣伝文句になってしまうのか理解できない。
今回は珍しく新曲を事前に発表するツアーをやっていないため、CDになった
段階で耳慣れているということが無く非常に新鮮に聴けた。
でその結果評価はどうかというと．．．微妙だなあ。
5や8や10のような、さすがというような曲もあれば1のようにいきなり
脱力するような曲もあり、玉石混交。
でもいいのだ。彼のファンならわかっていると思うがこういう微妙な
アルバムをある程度の数を造った後、大爆発することを。
今はそれがものすごく楽しみなのだが、いかんせんその爆発がいつなのかが
Neil本人も含めてわかってないことがつらい（泣）

　相変わらず予想通りの演奏を見せてくれるニール・・（世間では期待を裏切り続けているという言い方がふつうなのでご注意あれ）
　「三部作完成！」という見出しでレコード店では売っているけれども、ニールのファンとしては全部後世に残って欲しくないアルバムばかりだ。
　何がいけないのか触れておこう。本アルバムはベン・キースのコンセプト・アルバムという印象を持ったのだが、歌唱がニール御大である必然性を全く感じないのだ。日本人の駆け出しの歌手と取り換えてもクオリティが落ちない気がする、と言ったら言い過ぎか。
　"He was the king"ってこれは本人のこと？　そう、十年前は十分に"king"（いや、godfatherというべき？）だったのだから、いい加減に低迷から脱して欲しい。それがアルバムの出来に拘らず購入してしまうファンからの切なる願いだ。
