昨年のTV番組主題歌での採用を切っ掛けに訪れた三度目のクイーン人気。
その中心にあったベスト盤『ジュエルズ』とその150万枚大ヒットに因って発売された続編『ジュエルズ２』を一つに纏めたもの。

『ジュエルズ』は、約30年に及ぶ彼らの作品の中からのまさにベストオブベストな内容なので誰もが、１度は耳にしたことのある曲が詰まっているし『ジュエルズ２』は、裏ベストと言える内容。この２枚組が、あれば彼らの残したヒット曲・名曲の"一部"は、堪能出来るだろう。

今初夏から東京で上演された彼らのミュージカル『WE WILL ROCK YOU』の会場でも同内容でＷＷＲＹ仕様として売られていたが、今回は、今秋の来日に伴っての発売なのでジャケットの表紙は、新ロゴが採用されている。

もっ~とクイーンに触れたい方は、
『クイーンII』『オペラ座の夜』『イニュエンド』の３枚をお薦めしたい。ライヴならば『アットウィブリー1986』。
又、年代順に彼らのヒット曲を楽しみたい方は、
『グレイテストヒッツ』『グレイテストヒッツ２』をお薦めする（こちらも２枚をセットにしたＢＯＸモノがある）。

上記の様に大ヒットした作品なのでＢＯＸ仕様として出すならば、新たに１~２曲追加して欲しかったなぁ~。

ＣＣＣＤ・・・。・・・（ため息）。・・・。

QUEENのアルバムというなら是が非でも欲しい！
グレイテストヒッツも各国版全部集めなきゃ気がすまない！
そんな方でなければ買う必要が全くないアルバムです。

こう言いきる理由は、単純に割高だから、の一言です。
グレイテストヒッツ1.2を定価で買ってももっと安いですし、
殆ど曲がかぶっている上にコピーコントロールつきとは,,,

内容は「あの曲が入ってないから不満！」という個人的好みを抜きにすれば、
スタンダードナンバーが多いのでQUEENを知る上で「ハズレ」はありません。
ブックレットの内容は充実していますので、
「これからQUEENを知っていきたいな」という第一歩としてなら評価できるアルバムだと思います。
ベスト版やコンピアルバムからそのアーティストに興味を持つ、というのは
決して少なくはないはずですから。
リアルタイムでない人たちにも是非聞いてみてもらいたいですし。

「まず,曲を聞きたいんだ！」という人はグレイテストヒッツシリーズ
「QUEENというバンドはどんなバンドなのか知りたい」なら良いのでは？
ipodとかに入れたいって人は買っちゃダメですよ。
