このバンドはクールではない。
汗臭くて男臭くて、スタイリッシュでもなんでもない。
でも、だからこそ彼らの曲は働き疲れた夜に聴くと
涙が出るほどしっくりくるのだ。
そこらじゅうに転がっている人々の日常が、何の飾り気もなく
ありのままに描かれているリアルさは、何も彼らと同じイギリスの
労働階級者じゃなくたって共感できる部分があるだろう。

どの曲もどこか哀愁漂うメロディで個人的には捨て曲ナシ。
なかでも「Living for the weekend」「Stars of CCTV」がオススメ。

ダンスロックの真打、ハード・ファイのデビューアルバム。イギリスの権威ある音楽賞であるマーキュリー賞にノミネートされた作品(ちなみにコールドプレイやカイザー・チーフスなどもノミネート)。
「チンピラのためのダンス・ロック」とか、わけの分からないことを書かれたりもしているが、クラッシュばりのソリッドなギターにスタイル・カウンシル風のシンセサイザーを重ねた、かなりスタイリッシュなサウンド。ひねくれた所も無く、まさにロック×ダンス×ポップの直球勝負。
哀愁漂いつつもキャッチーなメロディーも秀逸で、アレンジも多彩で一瞬も飽きさせない。
2005年のUK新人の中でもトップクラスのバンド。日本盤は映像が収録されていて値段も輸入盤並みなのでこちらがお得。

そのサウンドをDisca！なんて造語で呼ばれるほど大注目･高評価の
サウス・ウェスト・ロンドン出身“ハード・ファイ”のデビュー・アルバムです。
激しいだけじゃなく切ないメロデイーを書ける点にも注目です。

貧しい労働者階級出身の彼らはその叫び声を響かせるべく現れました。
2002年にVo.のリチャードが彼と同じく失業中の仲間を集めてバンドを結成し、
『Stars Of CCTV』を自主制作。それをきっかけに英アトランティックと契約。
同世代のバンド(デッド60's等)の中でもハングリー精神は特出しています。

日本国内版には４曲のPVを収録(下記参照)。和訳詞も付いてるので買いです！
